The qualified applicant will become part of Northrop Grumman's Amherst Systems in Buffalo, New York; an organization focused on development and production of state-of-the-art Simulation Systems solutions.
Our Mission Systems team is a leading innovator, developer, manufacturer, integrator, and supporter of a variety of advanced electronics for national security and non-defense applications. The qualified applicant will become part of
Northrop Grumman's Software Engineering department here in Amherst, NY. The selected candidate will work in a dynamic people-focused environment where he/she will interact with other developers, other engineering disciplines, and our customers.
Roles and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
• Design, develop, test, operate, and maintain software and firmware components and computing systems software to be applied to, and integrated with, engineering, scientific and manufacturing requirements
• Apply the appropriate Software Engineering standards, processes, procedures and tools throughout the system development life cycle to support the generation of such engineering applications and products such as laboratory simulation systems, and display systems
• Interface with customers, suppliers, application users, and other technical and support personnel
• Travel to customer site for installation of our software applications upon completion (dependent on program phase)
• Responsible for the full software lifecycle: requirements, design, coding, testing, and integration.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree in one of the following STEM degree fields and a minimum of 6 months of professional/related experience: Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Software Engineering.
• 6+ months experience with Linux/Unix Operating Systems
• 6+ months experience with C/C++
• Must have U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance. Must be able to maintain this level of clearance for continued employment.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with RedHat Linux Operating Systems
• Experience with Qt
• Experience with RedHawk Operating Systems
• Experience developing software in JAVA and ADA programming languages.
• Experience with regression testing, unit testing and automated testing
• Experience with hardware test equipment such as O-Scopes, Spectrum
Salary Range: $67,300.00 - $100,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
