The Materials Processor position at Northrop Grumman in Sykesville, Maryland, involves performing various manual and clerical shipping duties, utilizing computer systems for tracking and reporting, and preparing materials for shipment. The role requires skills in carpentry and woodworking, as well as maintaining inventory and preparing items for shipment, including hazardous materials. Responsibilities
• Performs a variety of manual and clerical shipping duties.
• Uses a computer system for tracking, logging, verifying and reporting.
• Follows shipping practices and procedures and prepares materials for shipment.
• Repairs and maintains wooden structures, pallets and boxes in an industrial and commercial environment working from blueprints, drawings and oral instructions.
• Performs rough to finished carpentry work.
• Operates woodworking tools such as electrical saws, nail guns, routers, drills, planners, lathes, jointers and sanders.
• Makes shop computations relating to dimensions of work and selects necessary materials.
• Maintains an inventory of materials in the shop for use at all times.
• Performs a range of activities to prepare items for shipment including routine crating and packaging.
• Determines packaging requirements from training specifications and from knowledge of materials that need to be shipped off-site.
• Prepares and ships regulated hazardous materials.
Basic Qualifications:
• High School diploma or GED
• 3 years of experience in shipping/receiving, distribution, inventory management or warehouse operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with SAP or similar ERP software.

Salary Range: $43,309.58 - $94,812.87The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
