Job Summary

The Department of Pathology at Michigan Medicine is seeking a qualified candidate for a clinical assistant/clinical associate/clinical professor position. This individual will work with the Division Director, Division Technical Director, individual Laboratory Directors, and Division Section Head of Informatics to identify the areas of need. Together with the Division Section Head of Informatics, this individual is responsible for identifying the optimal informatic solutions and prioritization. This individual will oversee the application programmers, database developers, and bioinformaticians in the group to assign them to the prioritized list of tasks in support of the continuous operations of the division.

Required Qualifications*

The applicant should have a PhD in Computer Science or related field. At least 5-7 years of systems analysis/programming in a business environment highly desired with a demonstrable portfolio of prior completed projects including familiarity with Agile software development methods. Excellent communication skills are required. 

Modes of Work

Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.

Background Screening

Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings.  Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
