Key Responsibilities
CRA Exam Management & Regulatory Preparedness:
- Coordinate and manage all aspects of CRA examination, including document and report preparation, risk assessments, tracking of exam-related deliverables, and submission of required reports.
- Serve as an effective liaison with Federal Reserve and other regulatory agencies during CRA examinations and coordinate responses to exam-related inquiries and requests.
- Perform annual CRA Needs Assessment survey, prepare the institution’s performance context, and lead the self-assessment project, working collaboratively with internal associates and stakeholders to gather necessary reports, analyze findings and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop and maintain robust records of CRA-related activity for internal audit and exam readiness.
- Draft and deliver comprehensive annual Self-Assessment report that objectively evaluate the bank’s CRA performance and provide actionable insights.
- Proactively monitor regulatory proposals and changes, draft response and implementation plans, and lead their execution across the organization.
- Accurately communicate regulatory updates by proposing revisions to policies, updating procedures/disclosures, and preparing internal bulletins for associate training and awareness.
Tracking and Reporting:
- Oversee the tracking and reporting of all annual CRA-related goals, including Community Benefits Agreement (CBA) objectives, where applicable, and National Community Reinvestment Coalition (NCRC) partnership activities.
- Prepare regular updates and reports for board and executive leadership, summarizing progress and CRA compliance standing.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) Integration:
- Serve as the primary CRA department contact in all M&A initiatives.
- Manage the full lifecycle of CRA involvement during mergers —including integration & conversion meetings, task list management, and ongoing status updates.
- Ensure all regulatory CRA requirements are incorporated into post-merger integration planning and execution.
Collaboration and Team Engagement:
- Facilitate CRA policy education and provide guidance to internal associates at all levels.
- Collaborate with various departments to ensure accurate and timely information flow related to CRA and community investment activities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in banking, finance, compliance, or related field.
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience working in regulatory compliance, preferably with 7 years’ focus on CRA.
- Proven project management, organizational, and communication skills.
- Strong ability to interpret and apply regulatory guidance, with demonstrated experience collaborating across diverse associate and client groups.
- Advanced proficiency with regulatory software solutions, Microsoft Office Suite, and compliance management systems.
Preferred Attributes:
- Familiarity with CRA regulations, banking operations, and exam procedures.
- Strong analytical skills, exceptional attention to detail, and demonstrated ability to synthesize complex regulatory information for actionable outcomes.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with a track record of effective associate guidance and client-focused community engagement.
- Experience with mergers, acquisitions, and bank integrations.
