





Aquent Studios is looking for a Data Scientist to join our team with a global pharmaceutical company!
About the Opportunity
Join a global healthcare biopharma company driving innovation in healthcare through
advanced AI and machine learning. As part of the Aquent Studios team, you will consult on
cutting-edge ML models, including BERT-based transformers and Convolutional Neural
Networks (CNN), to power the next best engagement recommendation system for healthcare
professionals (HCPs). This system aims to optimize personalized engagement sequences
across multiple channels, improving customer interaction quality and business outcomes.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams including data engineers, ML Ops, product
managers, and business stakeholders to build, validate, and deploy models that leverage rich
customer interaction data, sales metrics, and HCP attributes.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor the design, development, and training of ML models such as xBERT (transformer-based) and CNN to predict and optimize HCP engagement sequences.
- Collaborate with data engineering teams to define and validate input data frameworks, including CRM interactions, content tagging, and sales data.
- Overlook the development and implementation of algorithms for sequence optimization using Genetic Algorithms (GA) integrated with ML models.
- Define and optimize the Customer Engagement Index (CEI) as the primary target metric for model training and evaluation.
- Conduct rigorous model validation, testing, and performance tuning using regional and market-specific data.
- Integrate ML model outputs into the Symphony orchestration platform for real-time field force use.
- Work with business teams to map ML outputs to existing business rule use cases and ensure alignment with market-specific constraints.
- Document model design, assumptions, and performance metrics; present findings to technical and business stakeholders.

- Stay current with advances in ML, NLP, and AI techniques relevant to healthcare and customer engagement.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, or a related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in machine learning model development, preferably with experience in NLP and deep learning.
- Strong expertise in transformer models (e.g., BERT, xBERT) and/or Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN).
- Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or similar.
- Experience with sequence modeling, time-series data, and optimization algorithms (e.g., Genetic Algorithms).
- Familiarity with customer engagement metrics and multi-channel marketing data is a plus.
- Strong data engineering skills including feature engineering, data validation, and working with large-scale datasets.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and ML deployment pipelines is desirable.
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry projects.
- Knowledge of CRM systems, content tagging, and customer interaction data.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for ML workflows.
- Exposure to Agile development methodologies.
- Experience with explainability techniques for ML models.

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $110-150K Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
