Who will you be working with?

Reporting to the Director of Labor & Employment, you will gain valuable experience in all areas of law, including commercial/transactional work, labor and employment, litigation, intellectual property, and mergers and acquisitions.

How will you make a difference?

As an intern for the Wabtec legal team, you will support all members of the legal team in a variety of tasks, including research and project-based support. You will also be able to shadow Wabtec’s lawyers in their day-to-day responsibilities. This internship is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience and learn what it is like to work as an in-house lawyer for a global company.

What do we want to know about you?

• Must be currently enrolled in an ABA-accredited law school and have completed (or set to complete) your first year of law school
• Must finish your first year of law school with a 3.00 cumulative GPA or better
• Must have strong oral and written communication skills
• Must demonstrate a willingness to take on all levels of legal work in a variety of different legal fields
• Must possess the ability to manage projects, including administrative support and substantive legal support
• Must have sharp analytical and problem-solving skills
• Must thrive working both in a team environment and individually

What will your typical day look like?

• Shadow various lawyers of Wabtec’s legal team during internal meetings, external meetings, arbitrations, mediation, and other litigation-based activities as they arise.
• Perform legal research and prepare summaries for legal team.
• Provide administrative and substantive project-based support to help organize various legal requirements and matters.
• Analyze contracts and other commercial documents.
• Analyze new legislation and provide feedback regarding compliance.

What about the physical demands of the job?

• Required hybrid work schedule in the Pittsburgh HQ, 3 days in the office and 2 days remote
• Must be able to travel in and around the Pittsburgh area to other job-sites, as needed throughout internship

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.

The hourly rate for this role is in the range of $23.00 - $25.00 per hour.

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
