Usability Specialist
Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Usability Specialist to enhance our user experience through both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in conducting comprehensive market research and consumer insights to inform design decisions and improve overall usability. This is a 6-month, 40 hours per week contract role.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative usability research to gather user feedback and insights.
- Design and execute user studies, surveys, and interviews to assess user needs and preferences.
- Analyze research data to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design, product, and engineering to integrate usability findings into product development.
- Present findings and insights to stakeholders and assist in translating research into design improvements.
- Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in usability and user research.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of primary research experience in both qualitative and quantitative research
Must understand a variety of market research methodologies and their applications
Ability to conduct research independently using internal tools without a research vendor (includes questionnaire writing, programming, QCing, data processing and reporting)
Strong statistical proficiency with the ability to explain statistical concepts in an intuitive way
Ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels; exceptional verbal and written communication skills
Ability to use a data-driven approach to problem solving and scaling
Ability to adapt rapidly in a fast-moving environment with shifting priorities and the ability to react quickly, dynamically, and intelligently
Strong client-management skills; ability to adapt to a variety of individual styles and approaches in order to deliver the appropriate insights and support each requires
Experience with conducting research on ad sales and UX research is a plus
Past experience working for a market research or consumer insights team at an entertainment company or research agency is a plus
In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
