Job Summary

The Robotics Student Services Office is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated individual to join the new Robotics Department in the College of Engineering as an Undergraduate Academic Advisor. This role will be pivotal in educating, guiding, and empowering students who are majoring in Robotics. Robotics is a new and growing department with currently more than 180+ undergraduate students and around 250 graduate students. Robotics Student Services provides student and faculty support for the administrative aspects of our student' curricular and co-curricular experiences. Our office is a collaborative, team environment that focuses on working alongside faculty on the student experience. This position will rarely, but sometimes, require evening hours for student advising or programming. There is flexibility in the position to allow for a hybrid method of working remotely and on-campus. This position will report to the Robotics Student Services Manager.

Responsibilities*

  • Undergraduate Academic Advising - provide academic advising to current and prospective Robotics students on class schedules, course selection, curriculum requirements, research opportunities
  • Program Administration - Collaborate with other department staff and as part of the Undergraduate Committee to administer all aspects of the Robotics Undergraduate program and curriculum
  • Outreach/Recruitment/Special Projects - Work with the team to create an inclusive, service-oriented environment for a multicultural student body
  • Other Administrative duties as assigned

Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree; but master's degree in High Education, Counseling, or related field is strongly preferred 
  • Experience in one or more of these areas: academic advising, counseling, student development, education or administrative student services in higher education
  • Programmatic and event planning experience
  • Experience with Google Workspace or ability adapt to new technologies
  • Familiarity with student data management
