Shift 5

The Tooling Attendant will be responsible for maintaining records, issuing, measuring, cleaning and polishing press tooling to ensure production of quality Tablets in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures. Also, performs routine preventive maintenance on Tablet presses as required. Coordinates repairs and maintenance of tooling with vendors and specifies and orders new tooling for the department.

Responsibilities

Critical contributions this role is counted on to deliver include:

  • Maintains inventory of tooling, dies and dust caps as well as ensures tooling equipment is in compliance with the Standard Operating Procedures for the Compressing Department.

  • Inspects, measures, repairs and buffs tooling to ensure capsules will meet quality specifications.

  • Maintains an organized tool room and an accurate inventory of tooling, including the current condition of each set.

  • Insures accuracy of measurements through effective instrument calibration program.

  • Maintains database of current tooling and tracks department spend on repairs and maintenance of tooling as well as the procurement of new tooling.

  • Matches punch and die combinations to increase yields and improve quality of product being produced.

  • Trouble-shoots malfunctions in equipment and performs minor electrical and mechanical repair to equipment using small hand tools as required.

  • Performs preventive maintenance daily including inspecting moving parts, greasing/lubricating as necessary and coordinates oil changes on encapsulation machine.

  • Performs all duties in compliance with safety rules, standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices.

  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

In order to take on these challenges, you'll need to have:

Education:

Requires a High School diploma or GED.

Experience:

A working knowledge of the compressing operation, typically resulting from three or more years of experience as a set up mechanic.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

You will be most successful in this role if you have:

  • Mechanical skills to effectively maintain, troubleshoot and perform routine repairs to complex, precision equipment and tooling. The ability to operate standard hand tools skills required. Experience with calipers and micrometer preferred.

  • Read English sufficiently well to read operating procedures and good manufacturing practices and batch records, communicate with supervisors and others, and maintain routine records.

  • Working knowledge of compressing operations; prefer knowledge of process equipment associated with tablet manufacturing.

  • Must have experience working with computers, ability to communicate through emails and experience using Word and Excel.

  • Physical ability to work on feet for full shift and disassemble, repair and reassemble machinery.

Physical Requirements:

Stand/walk for full work shift. Pull, push and lift parts of equipment up to 50 lbs. Squat/reach to complete repair/maintenance on equipment. Respond to requests from others that interfere with current priorities.

Environment:

Constant exposure to noise levels loud enough to require employees wear hearing protection. Warm temperature levels, fumes, vibration, dust, etc., sufficient to cause minor discomfort. The employee wears protective eye wear, hair net, uniforms, gloves, safety shoes, and back support, and, at times, dust mask.

Safety:

The incumbent must be able to perform this job safely in accordance with standard operating procedures and good manufacturing practices, without endangering the health or safety of self or others.

Annual Pay

Annual Pay Range

$34,030.00 - $51,148.00

This represents the minimum and maximum base salary range for this role, plus annual incentive. Various elements are used to determine a candidate's starting salary such as job experience, specific skills, and comparison to internal incumbents currently in the role. This information is provided to applicants in accordance with state and local laws.

Pharmavite provides compensation for all overtime hours worked by non-exempt (hourly) employees in accordance with state and federal law. The need to work overtime hours will be determined by management, based on customer and business necessity to meet the needs of our business, Pharmavite may require employees to work overtime.

Voluntary overtime requested by non-exempt employees must be approved in advance by the employee's supervisor.
