Barclays Services Corp. seeks Test Engineer in Whippany, NJ (multiple positions available):

• Responsible for all aspects of testing practice such as development, design, implementation, code-reviews, deployments and end user support.
• Create and execute test plans, test data, test cases to ensure quality for web applications, APIs, and scheduled tasks in adherence to organization’s testing methodology and processes.
• Partner with front to back IT functional teams and systems that allow investment bank to calculate credit worthiness using committee memo, key credit protections and minimum underwrite standards applications for new leveraged loan deals.
• Identify key areas for automation and ensuring adequate test coverage across various components of the software system.
• Design, develop, and maintain automated testing framework using industry-standard tools and programming languages such as Java, JavaScript/ES6, Typescript, Selenium, Protractor, Rest Assured, Cucumber, TestNG and Maven.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines, ensuring that tests are run efficiently and consistently as part of the software development process.
• Enhance existing frameworks to improve test efficiency, reliability, and maintainability.
• Create test cases ensuring all requirements in scope are tested, support system integration and user acceptance testing.
• Create tools to support the testing efforts, tools to collate test results, schedule test runs, test on multiple web browsers and do performance testing.
• May telecommute.

Purpose of the role

To design, develop, and execute testing strategies to validate functionality, performance, and user experience, while collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve defects, and continuously improve testing processes and methodologies, to ensure software quality and reliability.

Accountabilities

• Development and implementation of comprehensive test plans and strategies to validate software functionality and ensure compliance with established quality standards.
• Creation and execution automated test scripts, leveraging testing frameworks and tools to facilitate early detection of defects and quality issues. .
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams to analyse requirements, participate in design discussions, and contribute to the development of acceptance criteria, ensuring a thorough understanding of the software being tested.
• Root cause analysis for identified defects, working closely with developers to provide detailed information and support defect resolution.
• Collaboration with peers, participate in code reviews, and promote a culture of code quality and knowledge sharing.
• Stay informed of industry technology trends and innovations, and actively contribute to the organization's technology communities to foster a culture of technical excellence and growth.
