Description

The main purpose of this job is to assist in all tasks associated with the production of Non Marek’s bulk vaccines and master these tasks as outlined in the departmental procedures.As an employee of Boehringer Ingelheim, you will actively contribute to the discovery, development and delivery of our products to our patients and customers. Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists in all areas in the production of Non Marek's bulk vaccines. This may include, but is not limited to:
  • Learning and performing all processes related to the production of Non Marek's bulk vaccines.
  • Utilizing sterile technique at all times.
  • Learning and working appropriately under laminar flow hoods and in a HEPA filtered environment.
  • Communicating any process deviations or occurences to SR Ops Process Leader / team leader and/or group leader immediately.
  • Keeping the lab area clean and sterile at all times.
  • Works well independently and cooperatively within a team environment.
  • Performs candling of eggs.
  • Maintains accurate and timely manufacturing records.
  • Actively promotes safety and awareness in the lab, always acting in occurrence with safety practices.
  • Assists with washing, wrapping, and sterilizing glassware.
  • May assist with TS-11 / Cocci Filling process.
  • Assists with transporting raw materials and finished product in and out of the lab areas.
  • Completes daily job duties assigned monthly by SR Ops Process Leader.
  • Able to lift 50 pounds and carry 10 feet.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
**May not own or have contact with other birds or poultry.**

Requirements

  • High School or science related field.
  • Some post-secondary education.
  • Required knowledge of non-marek's technical processes.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Must possess the ability to work unsupervised, work well under time constraints, have the ability to think ahead to the next task, and be self-motivated.
  • Ability to think ahead to next task.
  • Ability to work well under time constraints.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. and carry it a distance of 10 ft.
  • Must be able to squat, bend, and stoop, as well as twisting and turning.
  • Manual dexterity and visual acuity are important.
  • Must be able to wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE.)
  • Must be able to stand on feet for long periods of time and work in a sterile production environment.
  • Must be flexible with availability (able to work overtime as needed on short notice). This position requires weekend work. Regular attendance is a must.
