Responsibilities
State Farm Park is now hiring lifeguards for summer 2025!
A Day in the Life: Ensure the safety of all patrons, while they are on the pool deck or in the water using proactive and reactive measures as trained.
- Demonstrate confidence and proficiency in the water.
- Comfortable performing in-water skills at varying levels of depth (up to 15ft).
- Handle physical part of the job (outside all day in the heat).
- Adheres to and enforces all established State Farm and Lifeguard vendor policies and procedures.
- Answer questions from customers about the use of the pool and pool policies.
- Required to wear the uniform provided by State Farm with no alterations
- Communicate with your supervisor on any schedule changes and hours worked.
- This list may not include all tasks, or duties that may be expected to be perform and may result in additional duties being assigned.
Pay will be $18.00 per hour.
- Position is not eligible for merit increases or incentives
- Position is not eligible for Shift Pay
Qualifications
We are looking for candidates who are:
- Minimum age of 17 years by May 1, 2025 (required).
- Able to communicate effectively.
- Dependable, motivated, and able to work in a team environment.
- Comfortable with communicating and enforcing State Farm Park and pool policies to patrons.
- Prior competitive swimming or lifeguard experience is preferred, but not required.
What to Expect
Training and Orientation:
- Mandatory training and orientation will be held:
- May 10-11 (Saturday-Sunday): 7:30AM-4:00PM and
- May 12 (Monday): 4:00PM-8:00PM
- Additional Details:
- Continued employment is contingent upon successful completion of required lifeguard training.
- Lifeguards are required to attend and pass all Lifeguard Certification training, including physical and written tests.
- In addition, lifeguards are required maintain rescue ready skills by attending four hours of in-service training during each month of employment.
Season Schedule:
- Dates: May 24th-September 1st
- Hours of Operation: 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM, 7 days a week
- Additional Details:
- Lifeguards must make a commitment to work from the hire date to the end of the summer program without excessive requests for time off. Pre-planned time off requests must be reviewed and approved by management.
- Employees will be scheduled up to 30-40 hours per week and may be expected to work in a rotating shift environment including irregular hours, weekends and holidays based on workload and job requirements. Employees' work schedules will alternate or fluctuate based on business needs.
