What You'll Do

Our New York Safety Policies and Programs team provides oversight and governance of occupational safety for the New York Business Unit. This team ensures timely and accurate delivery of information in adaptable formats, empowering business leaders and stakeholders to make informed decisions that drive Safety, Health, and Environmental (SHE) performance and reduce incidents. In addition, they also support the development and management of key regulatory and business safety policies and programs, including Serious Injury and Fatality (SIF) Programs, Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Management, OSHA Classification and Risk Assessments, Industrial Hygiene (IH) Management, Contractor Safety, and more.

As an Intern, you will play a key role in designing and implementing a chatbot to be embedded on our Grid:Home Safety pages. You will also contribute to developing content for these pages, ensuring they provide comprehensive and accessible safety information to all parties. The chatbot will not allow users to interact and ask questions about safety policies and procedures but deliver helpful resources and improve the overall user experience - empowering employees and visitors to quickly access critical safety information while fostering a strong culture of safety awareness across the organization.

You will be in Syracuse, NY working in a Hybrid structure for the summer. You must be located within a commutable distance to the identified work location for the summer.

What You'll Need

  • Availability to start on program start date, May 27, 2025 and work full-time (40 hours a week) throughout your duration of the summer
  • Registered in school as a full-time student and continuing education full-time for Fall 2025 Semester
  • Pursuing a Master's degree in Data Analytics, Business Analytics, Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Communications, Marketing or related majors.
  • Accumulated 18 or more credits and be 18 years of age
  • Work authorization that does not now or in the future require sponsorship of a visa for employment authorization in the United States (including CPT & OPT)

Salary Range

$25.00 - $29.00 an hour (Graduate Student)

Candidates will be assessed and provided offers based on major, degree type, and class year. Our Gridtern Program does not offer relocation, housing assistance, or public transportation reimbursement for Gridterns; however, we can provide a list of resources to utilize in making your arrangements.

Must reside within our existing footprint, which includes Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, and Vermont. As a Gridtern, you should also reside within a reasonable, commutable distance to your assigned primary office.
