Sr Mental Health Counselor - Psychiatry Child/Adol

Location: Parma Health Center

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 8AM-5PM

Summary:


Independently provides mental health evaluations and treatments for patients in an assigned area, including the child or adult outpatient clinics (including primary or specialty care offices), May provide mental health services at off-campus location(s) based on the assigned area (i.e., in schools, the jail, etc.). Performs diagnostic assessments, individual psychotherapy treatment, group therapy/counseling sessions, and crisis intervention services. Contributes to preparations for mental health and substance use care programs. Collaborates with Psychiatrists and other colleagues as needed.

Qualifications:

Required: Master's degree in Social Work, Counseling, or other Behavioral Health-related field of study from an institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education, or other similar accrediting body. Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC). 2 years of post-master's experience working with patients as a clinical Social Worker or Counselor. Experience with evidence based behavioral health interventions. Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills. Ability to interact effectively with a wide range of cultural, ethnic, racial, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Preferred: Currently licensed by the State of Ohio as a Licensed Independent Social Worker with Supervision (LISW-S) or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor with Supervision (LPCC-S). Experience with Psychiatric evaluations and dispositions. Experience with therapeutic interventions and treatment planning. Experience with Trauma and/or substance use treatment interventions Physical Demands: May sit, stand, stoop, bend, and ambulate intermittently during the day. May need to sit or stand for extended periods. See in the normal visual range with or without correction. Hear in the normal audio range with or without correction. Finger dexterity to operate office equipment required. May need to lift to twenty-five (25) pounds on occasion. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications.
