Sr Field Service Technician - Conveyor systems
Location: Indianapolis / Midwest (IN, IL, KY, OH, MI)
Travel: 95% travel, rental car and/or flights covered by the company
ABOUT THE ROLE
Honeywell is seeking aSrField Service Technician to join our field service team. In this role, you will be responsible for the successful on-site installation, servicing, and repair of complex material handling equipment and systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots. If you're passionate about troubleshooting, problem-solving, and working with advanced technology, this is the perfect opportunity for you.
This position involves extensive travel in the Midwest region, covering the area of south of Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, Kentucky, Ohio.
The ideal candidate will be located in Indianapolis and within 1 hour drive from a large airport.

Key Responsibilities:
- Perform installation, servicing, and repair of material handling systems, including conveyors, palletizers, and robots.
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical systems with minimal supervision.
- Provide on-site customer training on equipment usage, troubleshooting, and basic repair procedures.
- Ensure customer satisfaction by promptly addressing any challenges related to equipment delivery and installation.
- Troubleshoot and service Allen Bradley PLCs using Rockwell Software.
- Follow detailed work instructions and collaborate with engineering teams to update or amend outdated instructions.
- Continuously improve training guides and documentation for both internal teams and customers.
- Travel 75-95% within the service territory including overnight stays.
Compensation information
The annual base salary range for this position in Illinois is $54,000-$67,000. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
YOU MUST HAVE
- At least4years of experiencewith electrical and mechanical troubleshooting.
- Conveyor systems experience.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Proven experience with high voltage electrical systems.
WE VALUE
- Previous experience in thematerial handling industry.
- Hands-on experience working withconveyorsystems.
- Experience withinstallation and technical serviceof equipment.
- Allen Bradley PLCor similar experience.
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to identify and correct mistakes in technical documentation and instructions.
- A college degree or technical/professional certifications are a plus.
