The Banking Strategy team is responsible for the core business strategy of Banking Business Unit for Moody's Analytics and communication of the strategy, achievements, and information regarding the BU. This unit has decision and lead actor responsibilities for commercial and domain strategy, enterprise resource management and reporting.

A business as broad and diverse as the Banking BU requires a function which both reflects the diversity of our customers and domains as well creating focus which our product, sales, and delivery teams can execute on. The Senior Strategist focusing on Compliance domain within Banks is responsible for medium to long term vision and strategy for commercializing M' offering to address compliance related needs for banks. We expect this role to acquire market feedback through senior relationships, primary and secondary research, and collaborating intently with BU & various MA teams, synthesizes this information to generate long term plans for the business, and effectuates this strategy by collaborating with product strategy and go to market activities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer insight and market intelligence - Develop and describe a deep understanding of Compliance Domain:

Resulting in compliance domain value chain analysis, contrast with where we play, what the major gaps are and future state recommendation

    • Market assessment - Analyze market trends: Understanding the evolving regulatory landscape, emerging technologies, and shifting customer needs
    • Assess the competitor landscape to identify opportunities and threats and maintain the competitive analysis
    • Perform segmentation analysis - Do banks of all sizes have the same challenges or needs? Size the opportunity
    • Constantly review the partner or acquisition targets to facilitate build/partner/buy decisions
    • Develop Domain strategy: Create a comprehensive domain strategy that aligns with the company's growth goals and market trends. Assess and select most appropriate route(s) to market, for example, build versus partner versus buy analysis.
    • Core business review to identify strengths, weaknesses, gaps, adjacencies and clarify areas for investment / divestment
    • Coordination with MA KYC CoE and Data Estate horizontal to ensure information flow and clarity / cohesion in decision-making
    • Establish and Maintain Credibility in markets - through thought leadership and industry engagement
    • Define and validate the vision (evolution from current state to future state): Articulate a clear and compelling overall vision that guides product strategy & development. For example, partner with other stakeholders and select customers to assess and validate the business economics or market viability

Qualification:

  • 15-20 years of experience in progressively more senior and complex roles within Banking institutions focusing on KYC/AML/Compliance roles
  • Highly-developed communications skills - written/verbal - and interpersonal savvy
  • The ability to create structured, detailed and compelling strategic rationale addressed to various audiences within the organization
  • A collaborative nature; a team player who works effectively with colleagues and project stakeholders
  • Able to successfully navigate within varying degrees of ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage multiple, complex bodies of work
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail
  • The ability to work and think both independently and strategically
  • Relevant academic qualifications

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $198,300 to $287,550, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for incentive compensation. Moody's also offers a competitive benefits package, including not but limited to medical, dental, vision, parental leave, paid time off, a 401(k) plan with employee and company contribution opportunities, life, disability, and accident insurance, a discounted employee stock purchase plan, and tuition reimbursement.
