Position Description

The Senior Captain is responsible for the safe conduct of flights to which they are assigned. This individual must ensure compliance with all Federal, state, local and foreign regulations, as well as the policies and procedures specified in the company operations manual. When assigned to the flight, the Senior Captain has the final authority in the operation of the aircraft. The more senior pilot will have overall charge of the airplane, unless otherwise assigned by the Chief Pilot. The Senior Captain will execute scheduled flights and are on-call for shorter notice trips. Senior Captains are the Company’s most visible representative to the passengers and must act in a professional manner ensuring an efficient and safe operation. As Senior Captain, you can be assigned other roles that report to the chief pilot such as Safety Officer, or Training Captain. This position reports to the Chief Pilot and can expect to travel approximately 140 days/year.

Responsibilities

Comply with operational schedules and directives governing aircraft operation.
Perform and supervise preflight inspections. Ensure that the aircraft is airworthy and properly equipped, including approving services for fuel, oil, oxygen, supplies, and maintenance away from base.
Keep up to date with new policies, procedures, FAA and ICAO regulations and industry safety best practices.
Adhere to company Flight Operations Manual, SOPs, International Operations Manual and checklist philosophy.
Study weather conditions at destination, enroute, alternate airports and departure points, and all applicable NOTAMs.
Prepare flight plans and ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
Ensure the aircraft is clean, safe, and prepared for flight with all provisions on board for the safety and comfort of the passengers.
Manage the flight crew to ensure each trip is flown safely, effectively and efficiently.
Make necessary decisions to start, delay, or alter flight routes in response to changing conditions.
Ensure no flight commences if a crew member is incapacitated or impaired.
Notify appropriate authorities of any incidents involving the aircraft.
Ensure the security of the aircraft while in operation.
Provide excellent customer service to passengers by meeting and greeting passengers, loading baggage onto the aircraft and assisting passengers upon arrival at the destination.
Debrief passengers about safety procedures once on board.
Perform duties as pilot flying, or pilot monitoring – and assign roles as necessary.
Report hazardous weather conditions to air traffic services.
Maintain an image that positively reflects CC Industries.
Serve as a mentor and positive role model for all team members by demonstrating adherence to company policies and industry best practices.
Provides leadership to functional teams and assigned projects within department.
Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

A valid Airline Transport Pilot (ATP) certificate.
A current 1st Class Medical Certificate.
A valid passport.
A FCC Restricted Radio Operator Certificate.
The ability to travel extensively domestically and to Mexico, Canada, Caribbean, and occasionally other international destinations.
The ability to work a non-standard work schedule, to include weekends and holidays, and some on-call assignments.
The ability to pass FAA Class 1 physical examination every 6 months.
The ability to meet the requirements of CFR Part 61.58 in aircraft to be flown.
An expert knowledge of FAA operating rules & regulations.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent, organizational skills, interpersonal skills, and communication skills (written and verbal).
Superior customer service skills and high degree of professionalism.
G280 type rating preferred but not mandatory.
A four-year degree in aviation or a related field is preferred but not required.
Over 10 years of experience operating as a Captain or similar role.
Minimum of 5,000 flight hours, including at least two Jet type ratings.
- 2,000 hours PIC minimum.
- 2500 hours multi-engine minimum.
- 2000 hours turbojet minimum.
Ability to coordinate and manage projects.
Highly motivated and seeks out new learning/development opportunities which promote personal and professional growth.
Experience with corporate jet operations is highly preferred.
