Job Overview

The Security Supervisor colleague is responsible for ensuring the safety of guests and colleagues in the hotel’s continuing effort to deliver outstanding guest service and financial profitability.

Essential Responsibilities

Patrol the interior of and the perimeter of the hotel and the property to observe and identify potential safety risks, security risks and undesirable conditions.
Respond to emergency situations such as safety hazards, fires, medical emergencies and threats to life and/or property.
Promote safe work practices.
Initiates preliminary investigations into incidents.
Writes reports and ensures accuracy of necessary documentation.
Responds to guest inquiries and requests and resolve guest issues in a timely, friendly and efficient manner.
General guest requests, general cleaning and maintenance, and room service responsibilities.
Assist with flow of traffic.
Other tasks as assigned by the Director of Rooms, General Manager and Manager on Duty.

Qualifications

Education:
- High school diploma or GED equivalency preferred.
Experience:
Previous Security experience preferred.

Interaction/Skill Set:
Ability to follow all safety procedures/standards and be able to recognize and act in emergency situations.
Ability to be under and follow directions, and perform job functions with limited supervision.
Ability to effectively deal with customers’ complaints and concerns in a friendly and positive manner. This involves listening to the nature of the concern, demonstrating empathy with the guests, and providing positive and proactive solutions.

Work Environment

Availability to work various shifts to include evenings, weekends and holidays.
Ability to work a full shift (8 hours) walking and standing.
Flexibility to respond to a variety of different work situations.
Ability to work alone and as part of a team.
Wednesday-Sunday hours early evening-early morning.
