This position is located in Roy, UT. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
What You'll Get To Do:
• Dedicated Office of Chief Engineer (OCE) support to Integrated Functional Capability (IFC) strategy, including technical development, advisement, and trade study resolution as required.
• As the Department Manager you will be responsible for managing risk, project performance, schedule, technical quality, and addressing technical or operational problems when necessary. The selected candidate will assist engineers and program staff to develop and maintain talent within the organization. Additionally, they will have frequent contact with equivalent-level managers and program leaders to enhance the health and performance of the programs' SDS portfolio.
• Lead a team of engineers ranging across multiple engineering disciplines. Driving technical execution and solving complex problems
• Excellent communication, mentoring, interpersonal skills, and the ability to collaborate with senior management, peers, and employees
• Provides ownership for the people, processes, and tools that support business areas and programs in achieving their mission
• Set operating objectives and mentor chief engineers supporting the Sentinel program based on Engineering goals, objectives, and company policy
• Develop technical talent and foster the development of strong teams
• Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, and manufacturing
Additional responsibilities may include:
• Periodically individually meet with members of the OCE to build rapport and comradery. This will help identify areas of opportunity to support upcoming challenges that are not currently being elevated.
• Identify and mentor high-potential technical leaders and OCE bench candidates.
• Provide advisement to all IPT Leads (as required) and embedded Chief Engineers.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
Job Qualifications:
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) with at least 8 years of related experience.
• Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance with an investigation date within the last 6 years.
• Must have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.
• Minimum of 3 years in a formal management position
• Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:
• Experience with Project Life-cycle Management, manufacturing, sustainment and sustainment are a plus.
• Experience and proficiency with Agile principles, processes and tools, Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE), DOORS requirements management, Cameo EA, and the like.
• Demonstrated experience in program adoption of digital engineering concepts, methods, and processes
• Proficiency with cloud-based environments, high performance computing, and virtualized environments
• Experience in developing requirements and verification plans, and negotiations with customer and user communities.
• Demonstrated success as a CAM in planning and delivering technical capability while managing to cost and schedule. Ability to perform cost and schedule analyses.
• Top Secret clearance
Salary Range: $146,800 - $220,200
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
