We are looking for a technically strong Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) proficient in executing quality assurance tests for a 3-tier application based on Mainframe, Java and Exstream (Customer Communications Management System) product. Our application produces regulatory communications at ultra-high volumes. The individual is expected to work closely with both Mainframe and Distributed developers, understand the business rules developed on Mainframe and the presentation rules developed on Java/Exstream and then initiate an effective Testing strategy, executing the tests for final production delivery. The candidate is expected to work with the team in gradually building this automation framework and maintain it going forward keeping it current with ongoing changes to the application. The individual would help enforce strong quality guardrails on our communication applications as well as increase our efficiency of quality assurance efforts through scripting and automation. You will be specifically responsible for leading the quality efforts and maintaining an automation suite built for end-to-end data validation for Mainframe and Exstream based application.
Responsibilities:
- Discussing requirements with Product Teams
- Work with Technology Leads and Architects to understand the solution approach
- Develop and execute an effective Testing strategy to ensure flawless delivery to Production.
- Operate as a hands-on Software Development Engineer in Test for our 3-tier application based on Mainframe, Java and Exstream Individual with strong domain knowledge in Financial Services and Brokerage Industry who can work closely with Product Managers and business stakeholders to define test strategy and lead execution
- Executing - Lead group of testers to execute release testing, Build and release coordination, deployment tactics, and issue management.
- Process Improvement/Automation - Tool/feature adoption and improvements, process automation, develop content validation automation framework
- Risk Assessment - Work with Production Validation teams for effective data validation of regulatory communications, automate regulatory validation of communications, release approval processes, scope management, and delivery quality.
- Work with a geographically dispersed tech team to manage deployment and testing in lower regions for effective functional, regression and end-to-end validations
Experience:
- Hands-on experience in test execution and building automation suits/framework using Java
- Experience working with Selenium, Cucumber automation frameworks to automate 3-tier application validations in a batch environment
- 2+ years of experience working with Mainframe batch applications - JCL job execution, Control-M Batch scheduling, manual data validations, Cobol DB2 and Mainframe file-based application
- Experience with Distributed applications, Unix, Shell scripting and batch applications
- Proficient in data mining using SQL and creating test data based on production examples
- Experience working in high-volume applications to validate data accuracy, performance and scalability
- Proficient working with a geographically disperse team in a agile/scrum model
- Experience with CI/CD Pipelines using Bamboo/Jenkins/GitHub Actions etc. and source code repositories like Git, Bitbucket etc. is a plus
- Strong communication skills & domain knowledge
- Ability to engage in synergetic application and platform wide testing exercises
- Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and nontechnical audiences.
- Enthusiastic relationship builder: Ability to partner multi-functionally and work efficiently with different levels and functions within an organization.
- Experienced in working/leading Geographically dispersed team that operates across time zones
- Good understanding of Financial Services, trading, brokerage industry and regulatory documents is a plus
The target hiring compensation range for this role is $56.39 to $62.66 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
