SUMMARY

While taking direction from plant EHS Manager, coordinates the completion of tactical day to day tasks required to carry out the implementation and maintenance of a comprehensive industrial safety program.  Ensures alignment with Corporate Safety objectives and procedures. Tasks are conducted with a goal to achieve continuous improvement for the reduction of work-related injuries/illnesses and related cost reduction strategies.  Assist with achieving compliance obligations with applicable safety and health standards.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES :

  • As they relate to a specific business unit, carries out day to day tactical tasks for the coordination of Andersen's Safety programs to achieve and maintain compliance with applicable federal, state & local codes and regulations.
  • Provide and/or coordinate site specific safety training/testing (e.g., incident investigation, new employee orientation, lockout/tagout, powered industrial trucks, ergonomics, safety inspections, job safety analysis, audiometric testing, LOTO etc.) as necessary and/or directed by Corporate Safety or Plant Management in order to address hazards and comply with relevant standards.
  • Participate in incident and near-miss investigations as requested.
  • Maintain site-specific safety documents/procedures as directed.  Ensure availability of necessary PPE.
  • Conducts ergonomic assessments to identify risk factors and evaluate risk.
  • Participates in site assessments as needed (e.g., audits, inspections, accident investigations, etc.); with site management and assists with follow-up and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Participate in coordination of plant safety committee meetings.
  • Maintain site-specific safety training records as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

  •  Minimum of High School degree or equivalent.

  • A minimum of 2 years of manufacturing experience.

  • Strong task ownership and willingness to learn. Previous safety experience or safety advocate/committee member experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal/communication (verbal and written) skills.
  • Demonstrated customer-orientation and collaborative approach.
  • Facilitation skills. 
  • Problem solving skills.

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Basic knowledge of OSHA standards. 
  • Basic knowledge of environmental regulations

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS :

  • EHS related background experience and/or degree (seeking).
  • Be able to work independently, with minimal direction.
  • Some experience with hazard assessment/evaluation and implementation of control measures to address risks.

 Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to work experience, education, geographic location, certifications, etc. Your recruiter can share more about the specific compensation package for your preferred role during the hiring process. Successful candidates in this role are expected to earn between $24.00-$35.00 per hr.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS SUMMARY :

*       Must be able to stand for 8 hrs

*       Must be able to lift 50 lbs, etc.

PROFIT SHARING: In 2025 Andersen has set a profit sharing target of $3,500 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
