$26.950 - $32.340 - $37.730This position is covered by a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with SEIU-UHW. As part of the terms of employment, employees in this role are required to join the union within 31 days of hire and remain a member (e.g. dues paying, fee paying, religious exception contributor) for the duration of the collective bargaining agreement.
What You Will Do
Works independently and with minimal supervision to provide a broad scope of support for the CardioPulmonary Department. This support includes customer reception; clerical duties; equipment re- processing; quality control ABG machines; basic to intermediate biomedical (pulmonary) repair; preventive maintenance; routine equipment maintenance; telephone and in person scheduling for diagnostic procedures. Order, receive and stock routine supplies within the department and satellite areas; assist respiratory therapists in all related equipment areas. Maintain inventory' records; maintain equipment logs. Create systems and maintain diagnostic records for EEG, EKG and Cardio Pulmonary. Prepare professional billing. Performing EKG's; provide back up to therapists and EKG technicians as needed.
Required Qualifications
- H.S. Diploma or Equivalent
- Previous training in a health care environment, especially in biomedical or equipment maintenance field
- AHA Basic Life Support for Healthcare Professional (AHA BLS Healthcare) - American Heart Association -REQUIRED
Essential Functions
- Equipment maintenance
Recalibrates and repairs basic equipment as directed.
Disassembles and reprocesses equipment using correct, safe procedures.
Maintains tracking system, log book and records for regulatory agencies. - Equipment maintenance reports
Maintains equipment locator log.
Develops other systems to maintain supplies and equipment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Skill, knowledge and manual abilities regarding electricity, pneumatics, and other mechanical devices.
- Knowledge of basic mechanical aspects of equipment related to the cardiovascular system.
- Knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Knowledge of medical gas and physical gas laws.
- Ability to effectively communicated and prioritize multiple tasks.
- Calm, courteous and customer services oriented manner.
- Ability to communicate in writing and verbally.
- Basic computer skills.
- Ability to speak a second language desired.
