Outage Specialist - Plant Farley
Job Summary
Responsible to prepare for refueling outage needs with a focus on outage scheduling and leading outage schedule reviews. Will help drive site preparation for refueling management per key milestones. This will include tracking site progress and communicating site readiness status to the site and the fleet. Responsible for ensuring successful scheduling for the subsequent refueling outages.
Minimum
7 years overall nuclear power experience
Experience in operations, maintenance, or project activities in at least 4 refueling outages
Excellent intradepartmental communications skills (verbal and written)
Personal computer (PC) knowledge – fully proficient with Maximo and limited experience in Primavera scheduling software.
Preferred
Bachelor of Science degree in an approved engineering (or other technical) curriculum, or an SRO license
Experience in OPS OR in Maintenance
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
Reactor and turbine services experience in outage preparation, execution
Experience managing the pre-outage milestone process
Experience leading multi-disciplined teams for schedule alignment/reduction and alignment with online work controls
Personal computer (PC) knowledge – competent in P6, ESOMs, Microsoft Office
Shutdown Safety Program knowledge
Major Responsibilities:
Support or manage key milestones: schedule development, and schedule reviews.
Interface with the Single Points of Contact and Operations Outage group during the scheduling effort to identify the correct tasks and their windows for refueling schedule; align the site around the work schedule.
Tracking outage execution progress, performing schedule maintenance, updating and posting activities, and maintaining the Project Critical Path
Support site projects during development, planning and scheduling of future projects
Outage Control Center support for emergent and planned activities
Develop or coordinate the various Startup Management process meetings.
Manage work load, lead site teams in all aspects of outage readiness, influence decisions, demand results from others, and integrate with site personnel without significant direction.
Solicits best practices internally and externally, such as Outage Lessons Learned, to improve organizational effectiveness.
Forced Outage Preparation and communications to fleet and site
Emergency Response Organization member for OSC Communicator and On-Call Forced Outage Scheduler
Supports the Startup Schedule Manager with business plan initiatives.
Other Requirements
The successful candidate must meet background screening and NRC Fitness for Duty requirements.
