Job Description BAE Systems is seeking a Model Based Systems Engineering/Architecture Manager to support our work as a prime contractor on a high-profile U.S. Navy weapon system. We expect the candidate to be a self-starter who can quickly come up to speed on new technologies and work collaboratively with system domain SMEs, peers, managers, and customers; collaborate within a team environment to produce state-of-the-art, model-based requirements, interface, and design specifications and have excellent people skills and the desire and self-confidence to work with a highly technical team of engineers.
This position is responsible for providing leadership within a systems engineering team that specifically focuses on overseeing the implementation and application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies throughout the design and development lifecycle of complex systems, utilizing digital models to manage system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation processes across the project lifecycle.

Full-Time Salary Range: $115779 - $196825
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.

This position is responsible for providing leadership within a systems engineering team that specifically focuses on overseeing the implementation and application of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies throughout the design and development lifecycle of complex systems, utilizing digital models to manage system requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation processes across the project lifecycle.
Key Responsibilities of this position includes, but is not limited to:
- Leading MBSE adoption: Driving the integration of MBSE practices within the engineering team, promoting the use of modeling tools and ensuring consistent application of MBSE standards across projects.
- Model development and governance: Managing the creation, maintenance, and governance of system models, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and traceability between different model elements.
- Stakeholder collaboration: Facilitating communication and alignment between various stakeholders including system architects, designers, verification & validation engineers, and project managers to ensure seamless integration of models throughout the development process.
- Tool selection and implementation: Evaluating and selecting appropriate MBSE tools based on project needs, providing training and support to the team on tool usage and best practices.
- Quality assurance: Establishing processes to monitor and manage the quality of system models, including validation and verification activities to ensure model fidelity and reliability.
- Project planning and execution: Integrating MBSE into project plans, defining milestones and deliverables related to model development, and ensuring timely completion of modeling activities in both waterfall and agile methodologies.
- Internal Support: Gains internal support to operate and establish strong working relationships with customers, technical staff, managers, and peers
- Strategize: Performs a range of project management activities, such as developing program strategies, tracking & and scheduling, and establishing and maintaining databases
- Supervision: Supervise employees to include timecard approval, performance reviews, and hiring actions
- Bachelor's Degree in engineering, computer science, or other related technical field
- 5 years of experience performing Model Based Systems Engineering in a government consulting environment
- Direct experience in Systems Engineering and SysML/UML modeling capabilities utilizing modeling tools such as Cameo
- Self-starter who can work with minimal supervision, navigate at the expert level with System Modeling tools, and are familiar with developing Use Cases, Activity Models, and other SYSML models.
- Experience applying modeling to support a system's or SoS' requirements, design, analysis, verification, and validation activities throughout the acquisition lifecycle phases
- Experience Implementing a model-based culture, leveraging capabilities of the digital enterprise environment infrastructure of the organization
- Proven experience in delivering large-scale DoD systems engineering projects
- In-depth understanding of systems engineering principles, methodologies, MBSE, and best practices
- Master's degree in applied science, computing, engineering, mathematics, physics, management information systems, or another related engineering or computer science discipline
- Proficiency in systems monitoring, diagnostics and performance analysis tools
- Experience utilizing model data support to enable the creation of a digital thread across other engineering disciplines (e.g., cyber and safety).
- Knowledge/Experience supporting Navy SSP Strategic Weapons System
