Overview
Essential Function:
The Merchandise Assistant provides administrative support to the Assistant Buyers and/or Buyers by executing plans as needed and/or required. This position is responsible for product data integrity, new item setup and partners with various stakeholders across the organization to identify and solve issues throughout the SKU life cycle. This is a hybrid role, reporting into the corporate office in Denton TX on Tuesdays and Wednesdays of each week.

Primary Duties:
- Responsible of all Sku set up and maintenance in systems.
- Providing regulatory submissions and approval tracking on products.
- Responsible for proofing all Marketing and Store collateral materials.
- Assisting with POG (Plan-O-Guides) as needed.
- Promo data entry (as needed).
- Process all coupon request and reward points.
- Provides additional support on various ad-hoc projects as needed.
- Responsible for price changes and markdowns.
- Responsible for vendor coops and contract creation.
- Responsible for proofing flyers and making any needed corrections.
- Creation of flyer spreadsheet each month.
- Communication to vendors via phone calls or email.
- Responsible for answering store inquiries by email and/or phone calls.
- Utilizing Athena software to input store tasks on a weekly basis.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3 years previous experience in retail / administration
- Proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, proficiency in Excel

Working Conditions /Physical Requirements
- The work environment involves everyday risks or discomforts which require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, retail stores, and residences or commercial vehicles, e.g., use of safe work practices with office equipment, avoidance of trips and falls, observance of fire regulations and traffic signals, etc. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated.
- The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items such as papers, files, books, small parts; using a keyboard, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
