How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Global Operations Equipment group, you will be responsible for ideation, design, implementation of critical strategic initiatives. We have production facilities across the globe. You will help bring a strong focus to continuously improving both our team and our processes.

What do we want to know about you?

The materials/planning specialist provides materials management expertise to the operations team in addition to maintaining inventory accuracy, work order consumption, and ordering of direct materials. In this role, you will utilize your experience and expertise to solve problems, drive process adherence, you will utilize your experience or expertise related to data mining, Oracle ERP system, develop and execute objectives for self and others, and can affect short-term and some long-term business goals.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited college or university (or associate degree in a technical discipline with a minimum of 2 years of professional work experience, or a high school diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of operations or military experience).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Strong and effective problem identification and solution skills.
  • Strong knowledge of Oracle ERP system and OBIEE
  • MS Access, PowerBI, and/or SQL Developer experience

What will your typical day look like?

• Create and maintain locomotive plant production schedule and build plan

• Coordinate with leadership on updates to the build plan

• Track the shop’s production schedule and track position to master schedule by area

• Create and update BOM routings for locomotive plant make components.

• Maintain and continuously improve labor dashboard

• Update takt to match production volume and interpret supply/demand reschedules

• Develop and run SDL forecast reports based on production schedule

• Interface with Finance leader regarding SDL forecast.

• Develop Inventory forecast report based on production schedule.

• Audit Op Sequence on the BOMs to reduce inventory and optimize SWIP.

• Interpret Supply / Demand planning in Oracle, and root cause errors

• What-if analysis for potential schedule, planning and BOM changes

• Site experts in using, training, and constant learning of Oracle’s MRP abilities

• Understand where to mine different types of data as a means of problem solving

  • Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPE
  • Walking, climbing, stooping, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands on learning process

Our job titles may span more than one career level. The salary range for this role is between

$67,400.00-$96,000.00

The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. More information on offered benefits, which include health, welfare, and retirement, are available at mywabtecbenefits.com. Other benefit offerings for this role may include an annual bonus, if eligible.
