Our professional membership-focused association client in Silver Spring, MD, is seeking a Marketing and Communications Manager to support their foundation's team on a 6-month contract with the possibility of extending. This position is 37.5 hours a week and will be onsite 1-2 days a week.
You will work closely with the association's marketing, brand, and communications team to bridge the foundation's and the association's conversations and drive the overarching strategic goals. You will also understand how to reach target audiences through fundraising campaigns, value propositions, etc.
You must have writing samples to consider for this position. You must write content for campaigns, social media posts, speeches, and articles and edit thought leadership.
Duties of the Marketing and Communications Manager:
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns to promote the foundation's programs, mission, events, etc, to align with the client's goals and reach target audiences
- Work closely with internal teams and external partners/sponsors/donors to create cohesive marketing materials, manage content creation and measure the impact of campaigns
- Work with cross-function teams to create/write reports, articles, speeches, and campaigns that align with shared goals/objectives
- Project manage marketing and communication campaigns - ensure appropriate approvals, content development, website updates, etc
- Write, edit and refine content that aligns with brand guidelines and reaches target audiences
- Work to establish campaign performance metrics with colleges to measure and report on campaign performance
- Refine campaign and communication strategies based on metrics
- Advise leadership on opportunities to reach target audiences through storytelling
Requirements of the Marketing and Communications Manager:
- Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communication, Journalism, etc
- A minimum of 5 years of experience developing and executing marketing and communications campaigns
- You must have experience working in a foundation or charitable organization
- Experience working in healthcare, nursing, donor development, etc preferred
- Strong knowledge of traditional and digital marketing campaign strategy development
- Experience writing marketing and communications content and copy
- Experience writing and executing marketing campaigns
- Experience managing stakeholder relationships
- Knowledge of Hubspot a plus
