Job Description Summary

This position will be located at East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely. This position will require <10% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international). Please note that this role would not provide relocation and only local candidates will be considered.

Manage operations of the Medicaid Rebate department in an effort to provide prompt, accurate and compliant payment of Medicaid rebates for the Novartis, and its affiliate divisions. Responsible for the timely execution and monitoring of bids, contracts and modifications related to the Medicaid segment (Including Supplemental and State Program agreements).

Job Description

Key Responsibilities:

  • Initiate all contracts for Medicaid segment (Supplemental and State Programs). Must ensure all contracts are accurately executed in Model N for proper rebate adjudication.
  • Liaison directly with states and PBAs for all bid responses and contract negotiations.
  • Develop insightful analytics that both explain and predict revenue deduction fluctuations.
  • Review & approve high volume of rebates payments.
  • Assure data migration projects and other technical initiatives are successful.
  • Manage cash flow demands, estimates and forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Minimize revenue leakage by leading data scrubbing projects and using innovative analytical tools. Obtain savings by disputing invoice errors. Open, negotiate and close dispute with states in a timely manner.
  • Develop process improvements such as robotics and automation in order to stay current with industry standards and regulatory changes. Coach, mentor and train team members to reach their full success in the organization.
  • Collaborate with FSC concerning payment processing, capturing adequate accruals and forecasting. Provide Shared Service partners with actionable insights concerning state, program and product trends.
  • Calculate accurate rates for all Medicaid calculations and formulas use in proper adjudication. Perform quarterly pricing activities updates and entries in Medicaid Processing systems for all divisions.
  • Manage training and development of analysts within the Medicaid team.

Essential Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent 4-Year University degree.
  • >3 years' experience in financial analysis, customer payments and contracts or related expertise. Pharmaceutical/biotech industry experience a must.
  • Strong knowledge of payment procedures and systems including knowledge of contract and rebate systems such as Model N, Revitas Flex & Classic and SAP.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experienced with data analytics.
  • Excellent interpersonal, and relationship management skills; ability to work in a matrixed organization and influence others.
  • Strong Organizational Management Techniques; demonstrated ability in managing people, teams, and workload balancing.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Degree subject area in Business, Finance or related.
  • Functional understanding of MDRP, Government Pricing & Supplemental Contracting.
  • Statistical background a plus.

Novartis Compensation and Benefit Summary: The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between: $103,600.00 and $192,400.00/year; however, while salary ranges are effective from 1/1/25 through 12/31/25, fluctuations in the job market may necessitate adjustments to pay ranges during this period. Further, final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to geographical location, experience level, knowledge, skills, and abilities. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment. If hired, employee will be in an "at-will position" and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department/team performance, and market factors.
