Job Summary
To perform mammography-related procedures by operating X-ray equipment to make images of designated areas and evaluate the technical quality of images. This position requires candidate to travel to multiple locations. Candidate will be driving the Mobile Unit to and from Breast Imaging Events.
Responsibilities*
Performs mammography exams which may take between 10-20 minutes. See Physical Requirements below. Explain and prepare patients for examinations and perform radiologic studies. Determines proper technique and selects exposure factors. Adapt procedures to obtain specific diagnostic results. Interprets patient histories and physician instructions. Assured completion of all phases of radiographic procedures. Maintain the quality of images to determine if re-examination is necessary. Processing patient care orders using the electronic ordering system may be required in certain areas. Practice radiation protection. Ability to enter patient information into Sectra MiChart. Ability to review images on Radiology PACS system. Operation of (driving) mobile unit to events. Must be able to perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
Position may require flexing between 8,10,12 hour shifts as needed for operations. Perform other related duties as assigned. Candidate will be driving the Mobile Unit to and from Breast Imaging Events.
Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely and efficiently. Ability to sit for extended periods while driving. Capability to navigate various terrains and weather conditions.
Required Qualifications*
- Graduation from a school of radiologic technology or an equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
- Active certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology (ARRT) in Mammography.
- Current compliance with Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements for Mammography, if applicable.
- Current BCLS Certification
- Valid Driver's License.
- Clean driving record
Desired Qualifications*
- 1-3 years mammography experience preferred.
- CDL license preferred.
Work Schedule
8 and 10 hour shifts, some weekends.
