Maintenance Manager - MFIN Vogtle 3&4

Summary

The Fix-it-now (FIN) team - Special cross-functional work team assembled as a self sufficient work group capable of independently performing work without, or with minimal, outside support. Work is normally accomplished outside the site schedule. The FIN Team’s primary responsibility is to address emergent work activities such that the scheduled and planned work is protected, and the normal shop resources are not distracted from their assigned tasks.

Please note:  this position will be filled at the appropriate grade level that reflects the successful candidate’s work experience.

Job Responsibilities:

 • Own the Corrective Action Program. Validate Condition Reports to provide information for planning and scheduling of work. • Observe maintenance workers and supervisors and provide intervention and coaching to reinforce management standards and positive behaviors. • Provide employees with regular feedback on performance, including coaching and intervention to reinforce standards and develop acceptable behaviors. • Demonstrate ownership of business and management goals and lead teammates to align their efforts with those goals. • Participate actively in the Work Management Process to ensure work is executed safely, efficiently, and effectively. • Encourage employees to develop a high level of craftsmanship with an emphasis on nuclear safety, personnel safety and equipment reliability. • Support initiatives such as Maintenance Ownership and Subject Matter Expert activities. • Participate as required in benchmarking and assessment activities. • Provide on-the-job training and evaluation opportunities for employees. • Maintain a high level of productivity within the workforce. • Participate in the training process, own the training process, and observe the training process as required. • Own the Corrective and Elective Maintenance Backlog. 

Successful candidate must be committed to "Constant Improvement" for themselves, the employees and the facility.    

Requirements:
 • 7 years of total power plant experience (up to 2 years of academic or related technical training counts as power plant experience) • 3 years supervisor/management experience • 3 year nuclear power plant experience • 2-year technical degree or 2 years of related technical training Preferences • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related science or Professional Engineer license preferred • Second level leadership experience in a technical (Engineering) or line organization (Operations, Maintenance, Radiation Protection, Chemistry or Work Management) • General knowledge of maintenance processes and practices • Emergency Response Organization (ERO) qualifiable as ED, TSC manager, SAMG decision maker • Experience and understand of the SNC/IBEW Memorandum of Agreement • Knowledge of various nuclear plant technologies, maintenance, operations, and their impacts on Fleet operations • Current or previous SRO license or certification • Leadership Competencies Business Acumen • Be an active member of a community group Business Execution • Achieve results by influencing managers and the organization • Create metrics for evaluating and monitoring goals • Optimize work processes • Collaborate and integrate across organizational boundaries Communication • Establish and communicate vision and direction • Communicate essential information to organization in timely manner • Ensure that direct reports collaborate and are involved in strategic decision Leading People & Organizations • Build a strong leadership team that produces performance improvement • Model performance-based decision making in people decisions • Leverage diverse team and create an inclusive work environment where people trust and value one another • Optimize resource allocation • Conduct performance management & act on poor performers • Create contingency plans Organization Savvy • Build effective networks to achieve cross-functional results • Build effective working relationships Personal Attributes • Role model SouthernStyle and ensure direct reports and staff do the same • Hold yourself & direct reports accountable for driving and sustaining a focus on safety and improving Target Zero performance • Be a credible spokesperson for the company
