The College of Literature, Science, and the Arts, and the Department of Psychology at the University of Michigan invite applications for a Lecturer I position at 33.33% effort for the Fall Term 2025. This appointment is scheduled to begin on 8/25/2025 and end on 12/31/2025.

Responsibilities*
Duties of this Lecturer I position is expected to include teaching, developing course materials, evaluating and grading students, and holding regularly scheduled office hours. A typical full-time (100% effort) load for a Lecturer I in the College of Literature, Science, and the Arts is three courses per semester. Full-time and part-time positions are available.
Course Title(s): Psych 358 Psychology of Adolescence
Course Objectives:
This 3 credit advanced course in psychology provides a comprehensive overview of the current state of theory, research and practice regarding adolescent development, including biological, cognitive, and behavioral changes, as well as family, peer, school, and societal influences. A survey of specific problems and contemporary social issues facing adolescents and young adults will be presented, including problems of development (such as public health, teenage pregnancy, substance abuse, delinquency, psychopathology, and depression). Psych 358 Lecturer meets in person Tuesdays and Thursdays 10:00am-11:30am throughout Fall 2025 term.
Required Qualifications*
The candidate must hold a Ph.D. in psychology, or a closely related field. The candidate must have demonstrated excellence in college-level teaching in the United States.
The selection criteria used for this search is based on how the applicant's education and experience meets the required minimum qualifications for the position. Excellence in teaching and instruction will be the principal criteria used to select the successful candidate.
Desired Qualifications*
Preference will be given to candidates with experience teaching psychology of adolescence or developmental psychology.
