Honeywell's ACST team is seeking a highly
skilled and experienced Lead Systems Engineer for their Golden Valley, MN
location. This position is responsible
for providing technical expertise as a team leader or member on a variety of
projects and programs. May act as a technical consultant for management. Uses
expert knowledge of Systems Engineering discipline and Honeywell standards,
processes, and tools in order to complete and ensure compliance of various
projects. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of systems
engineering principles and a proven track record in leading complex engineering
projects. As a Lead Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing,
integrating, and managing complex systems throughout the lifecycle of the
project.
KEY
RESPONSIBILITIES
System Design and Architecture:
-Lead Requirements derivation, decomposition, analysis and management.
-Develop, evaluate, and implement system architecture designs to meet project requirements. This includes both functional and operational artifacts.
-Collaborate with stakeholders and users to define system requirements, specifications, and architecture.
-Generate diagraming, modeling and interface definitions for assigned system
-Uses expert knowledge of Systems Engineering discipline and Honeywell standards, processes, and tools in order to complete and ensure compliance of various projects.
Leadership:
-Leads and provides direction to other engineers and project team members.
-Drives talent development activities related to System Engineering.
-Recognized as a technical authority within the COE.
-Lead cross-functional teams in the execution of engineering projects.
-Set objectives and deliver results that have direct impact on the achievement of results within the job area.
-Manage project timelines, resources, and deliverables, ensuring milestones are met on time and within budget.
Integration and Testing:
-Oversee the integration. of various subsystems and components into a cohesive system.
-Lead development and execution of verification and validation plans and procedures to ensure system performance meets specifications.
-Collaboration and Communication:
-Facilitate communication between technical teams, management, and external stakeholders.
-Point of contact for external customers for overall product status, standards, etc.
-Present technical concepts and project status to project team and stakeholders.
Risk Management:
-Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies throughout the project lifecycle.
-Support system assessments and trade studies to evaluate design options and make informed decisions.
Documentation:
-Prepare and maintain comprehensive program documentation including design review, system plans, system specifications, trade studies, test plans, test procedures and user manuals.
-Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
Mentorship and Team Development:
-Leads and provides direction to other engineers and project team members.
-Provides direction to early career engineers to ensure project and product compliance
-Drives talent development activities related to the discipline.
-Foster a collaborative team environment that promotes innovation and continuous improvement.
YOU MUST HAVE
-Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering or mathematics
-6+ years of Engineering experience
-5+ years of System Engineering experience
-3+ years of experience leading a systems development team (requirements development, functional analysis, modes/states, architecture definition)
-Ability to travel up to 20%
WE VALUE
-Master's degree or PhD in Systems Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or related field

-Experience with cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum, electro-magnetics, complex control systems, or cyber security
-Certification, coursework or demonstratable experience in Systems Engineering
-Membership and participation in INCOSE
-Proficiency with Cameo, or other model-based systems engineering (SysML) tools
-Proficiency with DOORS or other requirements management tools
-Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities
-Innovative mindset and a passion for technology
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Multi-tasking and ability to manage a variety of complicated tasks
-Ability to adapt to change based on project needs
-Individuals who are self-motivated and able to work with little guidance, who consistently take the initiative to get things done
-Experience with project management practices and tools
The annual base salary or/ hourly pay range
for this position is $123,000 - $154,000. Please note that this salary
information serves as a general guideline. Honeywell considers various factors
when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and
responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education
and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations.
This position is incentive plan eligible.
