Lead Software Engineer, Trading Engineering, FactSet Research Systems Inc., New York, NY.
Manages people or projects within Trading Engineering department. Design and develop software programs to meet business requirements, perform unit tests, and fix bugs within the Trading engineering department. Duties include; Grasp the functions of each component within the application, understanding the interactions and dependencies among components, communicating these concepts to developers. Implement and review code changes in accordance with business requirements. Work closely with product and client teams to understand the requirements and come up with technical solutions. Work in agile team environment and coordinate with all other departments (Product, QA, Doc, AM, Support and Sales). Recognize potential reuse in the organization or in the application by observing the broader system environment and having knowledge of other applications in the organization. Analyze, troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
Minimum requirements: Bachelor's degree, or higher, or foreign equivalent, in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related technical field and at least 5 years of software engineering experience in the finance or electronic trading space. (In lieu of stated education and experience, will accept Master's degree or foreign equivalent in stated fields and at least 3 years of stated experience). Must have experience with the following: Firm understanding of Java 1.6 - 1.8 core APIs, including collections, multi-threading, XML, and middleware technologies. Proven hands-on design and implementation experience in high-volume, high- performance real-time systems. Knowledge of financial equity or derivatives products, market data feeds, trade lifecycle and post-trade processing, portfolio management or Order Management Systems. Knowledge of Swing, JMS, J2EE. Must have full software engineering life cycle experience.
Basic pay range is One hundred seventy thousand dollars to two hundred thousand dollars per year for full –time employment (Mon. – Fri. 9-5).
