The candidate would be responsible for aerodynamics design and analysis of Turbine components. The scope of the work will include generation of new turbine gas-path and airfoil designs from conception through detailed design, support hardware fabrication, support engine testing, data reduction and validation of analysis models. In addition, the candidate would participate in teams which support internally and externally funded research programs with the emphasis of improving Turbine Aerodynamics technology. Experience in conducting multi-stage steady and unsteady CFD analysis using commercial codes is desirable. The candidates should also have the ability to lead a team to resolve complex engineering problems and have an effective listening skills and flexibility in approach to resolve complex engineering problems.KEY RESPONSABILITES:This position requires an individual with prior experience to support the following tasks:
- Lead engineering tasks associated with the aerodynamic design and analysis of axial & centrifugal turbine blades and vanes with and without internal cooling.
- Lead turbine aerodynamic rig testing, data reduction and analysis.
- Responsible for working with cross-functional technical teams, associated Enterprise project engineers, Product chiefs and global resources to support currently fielded products and contribute to defining new products and product improvements.
- Lead continuous process improvement projects within the organization.
- Perform risk assessment and abatement, problem solving with root cause analysis, decision making.
- Communicates technical results to internal and external customers.
U.S. PERSON REQUIREMENTS
Due to compliance with U.S. export control laws and regulations, candidate must be a U.S. Person, which is defined as, a U.S. citizen, a U.S. permanent resident, or have protected status in the U.S. under asylum or refugee status.
MUST HAVE:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering, advanced degree preferred.
- Must have a minimum of 8 years of experience in Turbine aerodynamics or design of turbomachinery.
- US Citizen or US Permanent Resident required due to export-controlled technologies.
WE VALUE:
- Advanced understanding of aerodynamic design of turbomachinery, fluid dynamics and with applied CFD knowledge of Turbine aerodynamic CFD codes (e.g. Fine Turbo, StarCCM+, etc.)
- Capable of 1D Aerodynamic analysis.
- Turbine rig and engine test support. Data acquisition , reduction, interpretation and post processing.
- Strong teamwork skills, able to work in variety of team roles within cross-functional team.
- Must be dedicated to customer satisfaction and demonstrated the capability to establish and maintain strong personal relationships with co-workers.
- Must have strong written and oral communication skills.
