As a Lead Field Service Technician - Fire Security or Building Automation here at Honeywell, you will have the opportunity to provide technical expertise and leadership in the field service operations for fire security systems. You will be responsible for ensuring efficient and effective service delivery to our customers, troubleshooting and resolving technical issues, and leading a team of field service technicians. Your strong technical knowledge and problem-solving skills will play a crucial role in driving customer satisfaction and the success of our field service operations.
You will report directly to our Field Service Manager and you'll work out of our Richardson, TX location on a hybrid work schedule.
In this role, you will impact the safety and security of our customers by ensuring the proper functioning and maintenance of fire security systems. You will also have the opportunity to lead and mentor a team of field service technicians, driving continuous improvement and delivering exceptional service to our customers.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide expert technical support and service for HVAC Building Automation or Fire systems
- Lead and manage a team of field service technicians
- Conduct troubleshooting, diagnostics, and repairs on complex technical issues
- Perform preventive maintenance and system upgrades as required
- Collaborate with customers to understand their needs and provide appropriate solutions * Train and mentor junior technicians to develop their skills and knowledge
- Maintain accurate records of service activities and report on system performance
- Stay updated with industry trends and advancements, and provide recommendations for improvement
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements
YOU MUST HAVE
*Must have 3-5+ yrs of HVAC Building Automation experience or Fire Technician experienceStrong technical knowledge and expertise in building automation systems or
* In-depth knowledge of Fire alarm systems, plans, specifications, and solid understanding of contracting relationships
* Competent in MS Word, Excel, Project, and Outlook
* Excellent customer service skills with experience in technical phone or onsite customer support including good interpersonal communication skills.
* Ability to travel both locally to customer sites and overnight up to 25% as workload demands
* Valid driver's license and safe driving record ability to pass background check
WE VALUE
*NICET certification level 1 or higher
* Minimum of 5 years of proven experience in HVAC building automation and security systems
* 1+ years related security system and access systems.
* Technical Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical, Computer Science or related field or 4 years of experience in a technical role in this industry
* Building Networks infrastructure knowledge (wiring, CAT, Cables, Fiber optics etc.). Understanding of typical communication topologies is important a plus Knowledge of Fire alarms, smoke control and security systems a plus
