Job Description
Join a team located throughout the United States collaborating daily to lead delivery of IT Services to a global enterprise. The Software Release Engineer will be responsible for the Software Release Management program working with a matrixed organization. This role will be responsible for ensuring timely and successful software releases, while minimizing risks and maximizing customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibility:

Develop and maintain a release management process that is scalable, repeatable, and measurable, aligned with BAE Systems' software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including development, quality assurance, and operations, to ensure alignment and coordination on release goals and timelines
Identify and mitigate risks associated with software releases, including testing, deployment, and customer impact
Develop and maintain release documentation, including release notes, user guides, and technical documentation, in accordance with BAE Systems' documentation standards
Coordinate with stakeholders to gather and prioritize requirements for new features and bug fixes, ensuring alignment with customer needs and business objectives
Develop and manage release schedules, including setting deadlines, tracking progress, and communicating status to stakeholders, using tools such as Microsoft Project
Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection
Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including development teams, product managers, and customers, to ensure effective communication and collaboration
Analyze and report on release metrics, including success rates, customer satisfaction, and defect rates, to inform process improvements and optimization
Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance release efficiency and effectiveness, leveraging best practices and industry standards

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

5+ years of experience in software release management with a strong understanding of software development lifecycles and Agile methodologies
Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git and SVN), and continuous integration and continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines
Strong understanding of industry standards and regulatory requirements, including those related to cybersecurity and data protection, such as GDPR, HIPAA, and CUI
Experience with release documentation, including release notes, user guides, and technical documentation
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and mitigate risks, and experience with release management tools

Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $94728 - $161038

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
