Head of Supplier Quality
As the Head of Supplier Quality, you will translate enterprise-wide business needs into supplier quality solutions and will be accountable for the development and delivery of the Supplier Quality strategy across Philips. Supplier Quality Engineering engages early with R&D and Procurement to drive new product development industrialization and supplier industrialization for step-up performance on quality, cost and risk.
Your role:
- Accountable for the development and delivery of Supplier Quality strategy across the enterprise.
- You are ensuring compliance to regulatory requirements and procedures for regulated products/processes including high quality performance of suppliers.
- Provide Supplier Quality Engineering leadership and vision to enable the organization’s short- and long-term objectives
- Develop and deploy supplier quality strategy in line with supply management and business strategy
- Deploy, set, assess and decide (veto) on the quality aspects in the Supplier Selection process
- Ensure that the supplier partners related risks (quality; delivery; cost) are controlled and mitigated
- Deploy and follow up on the Supplier Quality Related KPI’s towards the suppliers and SQE’s
- Ensures the assigned supply base meets the Philips sustainability requirements
- Develops multiple supplier relations in order to involve key suppliers as early as possible
- Recommend strategic directions, policies and establish quality management directives
- Ensures the annual definition of the quality improvement plan (QIP) for strategic/preferred BOM suppliers based on business needs, ensure timely implementation
You're the right fit if:
- Master’s degree in a relevant technical discipline (e.g. Engineering)
- Proven leadership track record in related functions like Quality, Procurement, BPO or Supply Chain Management
- Solid experiences in establishing Quality strategy, oversight, Quality system etc., preferably at group/ corporate level in a large multinational company
- Profound experience, in a highly regulated environment of Medical Devices, Automotive, Aerospace, etc. Medical Device strongly preferred
- Understands business trends and the direction supply management must take to support the business
- Must be familiar with business process management framework including industry practices such as APQC
- Relevant training, experience and certification in Continuous Improvement practices such as Lean/ Six Sigma highly preferred
- Interacts internally and externally with executive-level management, requiring negotiation of very critical matters and influencing policymaking.
- Through assessment of intangible variables, the ability to identify and evaluate fundamental issues, provide strategy and direction for major functional areas
- Requires in-depth knowledge of supplier quality, business strategies, and the company’s goals
How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details
The pay range for this position in (Minnesota) is $164,483 to $303,600.
The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.
In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered. At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.
