The Head of AI Risk Oversight is responsible for overseeing and facilitating the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) Risk into the Enterprise Risk Management Framework and risk programs. This role will lead risk management practices that allow the company to identify, measure, assess, monitor, and control risks associated with AI-driven technologies. AI Risk Oversight works closely with various departments to ensure responsible adoption of AI technologies and compliance with relevant laws, rules, and regulatory expectations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Following is a summary of the essential functions for this job. Other duties may be performed, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below. Specific activities may change from time to time.

1. Develop and implement the AI Risk Oversight Framework, including AI risk policies and procedures, key risk indicators, risk appetite, and associated limits.

2. Collaborate with Model Risk Management, Third Party, Technology, Data, Legal, and Compliance teams to address the risks related to AI (e.g., explainability, fairness, trustworthy data, ethical AI usage) throughout the bank.

3. Provide credible challenges to First Line of Defense (1LOD) AI Governance processes to ensure responsible adoption in accordance with the company's AI strategy and risk appetite.

4. Critically assess AI Use Cases and independently validate AI Systems.

5. Remain informed about AI-related regulatory developments and ensure compliance with evolving laws and guidelines.

6. Integrate AI-related risk considerations into existing policies, standards, procedures, risk taxonomy, control taxonomy, and governance routines within Risk Programs.

7. Lead the AI Risk Oversight Working Group, facilitating a forum for senior stakeholders to monitor, assess, and escalate AI-associated risks.

8. Regularly update the Enterprise Risk Committee (ERC) on AI activities and provide aggregated risk profile reports.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

1. Bachelor's degree in a related field.

2. Successfully led and managed a diverse team of experts through vision, inspiring innovative thought leadership and influencing excellence in execution across organizations.

3. Fifteen years progressive related experience in managing horizontal functions with related experience in risk management, model, analytics, business intelligence, data and/or AI.

4. Demonstrated strong understanding and experience in business and technology organization, resources, priorities, needs, policies, regulatory requirements and industry standards related to Financial Services AI risk.

5. Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders.

6. Experience developing and improving business processes, risk management frameworks and policies.

7. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to analyze complex scenarios and provide actionable insights.

8. Experience building, mentoring, and growing high performing teams.

9. Proven ability to prioritize and effectively deliver in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.

Preferred Qualifications:

1. Advanced degree preferred.

2. Experience in leading large-scale complex projects from beginning to end
