This is a Year-Round Internship. We are looking for students who can commit to work up to 15-20 hours per week during the academic year in the Fall/Spring and 30-40 hours per week during the summer. The target start date for this internship is October 2025. This internship will be a Hybrid position with intent for the student to come into the Baltimore office one day per week on Tuesday or Wednesday.
PURPOSE:
The Graphic Design Intern role exists as a hire strategy to bring in incumbents enrolled in an accredited college or university who are pursuing a bachelors degree in graphic design, advertising, marketing communications or related field to learn the fundamentals of the Graphic Designers role in an in-house creative department. The creative team delivers brand-defining collateral and member experience guidance for all Market Facing Corporate Initiatives. PRINCIPLE ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Under the leadership and direction of the Graphic Design Team, the principal duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following in a continuous learning environment:
- Graphic Design & Production assist with concepting, designing and producing a variety of marketing communications for print, environmental and digital as well as other collateral and advertising campaign materials. Contributes to the continual improvement of the creative production workflow, processes and systems of the Creative Team including the structure and organization of design files. Document processes and best practices. Works with vendors and partners such as printers, agencies and others to complete production and fulfillment of projects.
- Strategy & Consultation Collaborates with Marketing team members in support of corporate initiatives, including attending project meetings, providing strategic insight, presenting an overview of initiatives to other associates and ensuring all commitments are met. Assists in the creation and execution of integrated, strategic, creative communication plans for company-wide and cross functional initiatives. Researches topics and information to develop creative.
- Project Management & Planning Works with marketing project managers and team to plan, set priorities and ensure proper communication across divisions; troubleshoot problems and resolve issues.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Experience: This position requires an individual working towards a Bachelor's degree from an accredited College or University. Junior or Senior Undergraduate student targeting majors in Graphic Design, Advertising, Communications Design or related degrees with a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above.
Required
- Exposure to an internship or work within a Marketing department or in-house creative team or advertising agency is preferred
- Understanding of basic design principles
- Knowledge and understanding of print production and workflow
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working in a team-oriented environment
- Portfolio will be asked to be submitted for review during interview process (School Projects are acceptable)
Abilities/Skills
Students should be comfortable and willing to do the following:
- Produce wireframes, mockups and prototypes for testing
- Prepare and present design concepts to internal teams and key stakeholders
- Create, maintain, and adhere to design team expectations
- Willing to work in a remote capacity
- Any familiarity with Adobe Design Suite (InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop)
- Experience working with Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Microsoft Teams
Salary Range: $18,720 - $26,000
