TheExecutive Director, Strategy and Operations for Corporate Affairs is a pivotal role, responsible for leading five critical functional areas: Insights and Analytics, Corporate Affairs Center of Excellence, Cross-Functional Special Projects, Executive Communications for the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer and our company's Creative Studios.

In this high-impact role, the Executive Director will serve as a senior advisor, thought partner and key collaborator for the Corporate Affairs and Global Communications leadership team. The Executive Director will oversee the generation of all Corporate Affairs Insights and Analytics on major business initiatives, product launches, executive engagement and social issues sensing, including vendor management and cross Corporate Affairs budget management. Once collected and aggregated into insights, this role will oversee the delivery of proactive data and related actions and recommendations to senior executives across Corporate Affairs. They will also ensure that Corporate Affairs cross-functional teams are delivering efficient and effective strategies in support of enterprise-wide key initiatives and functional areas, as part of the Center of Excellence. Importantly, this role will also lead the internal and external communications strategy and materials development for the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer, in close partnership with the leader's Chief of Staff. The Executive Director will also be responsible for the oversight of our company's Creative Studios, which supports creative activities across the company.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President of Global Communications, the Executive Director must be a strategic C-suite thought partner and an exceptional cross-functional collaborator. They should be an egalitarian leader who fosters skill building and excellence within a diverse, multi-faceted team, excels in maintaining strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and effectively navigates a fast-paced, highly matrixed organization.

Scope of Work & Core Responsibilities:

  • Partner with the Senior Vice President of Global Communications and the Corporate Affairs leadership team to integrate and consistently articulate the principles underpinning the company's strategic framework to all internal stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with business leaders and Corporate Affairs colleagues to support the function at scale and deliver on global communications.

  • Inform and drive business transformation and change communications across key business initiatives.

  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to assess the impact and effectiveness of Strategic Operations.

  • Lead key enterprise special projects and oversee cross-functional resources assigned to these initiatives.

  • Develop and implement a thought leadership and executive communications strategy and platform, along with related materials for the Chief Communications and Public Affairs Officer.

  • Manage and provide oversight of and insight into cross Corporate Affairs budgets; identify synergies and opportunities.

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal stakeholders.

  • Effectively manage agency partners.

  • Identify and act on areas for improvement across the function.

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree

Required Experience & Skills:

  • 10+ e years of in-house or agency experience in a communications role of similar function, with a preference for experience in pharma, biotech or a highly regulated industry.

  • Prior experience leading data and insights measurement.

  • Proven track record in leading projects or initiatives with multiple stakeholders across functions and regions, achieving results that meet objectives within timelines and budgets.

  • Exceptional collaboration skills with the ability to work across all levels of the organization to drive strong business outcomes.

  • Meticulous attention to detail and superior verbal, written and editing skills.

  • Positive attitude and proactive approach to finding compliant solutions to challenges.

  • Degree in Communications, Public Relations or equivalent.

  • Willingness to travel (domestic and international), as required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$227,300.00 - $357,900.00
