Primary Responsibilities:

  • Accountable for all environmental, health, and safety (EHS) program execution and compliance at a portion of our Manufacturing Division's Animal Health Sites.

  • Leads site EHS leaders and influences site, region, and global business partners to drive prioritization of regulatory compliance, continuous performance improvement, and integration of EHS performance objectives into standard work processes.

  • Models a strong compliance mindset, draws on direct pharmaceutical manufacturing experience, and develops strategies to achieve goals in alignment with company business needs and values.

  • Self-motivated, reliable, and persistent; is energized and motivated by identifying and developing talent.

  • Must be collaborative and enthusiastic with a focus on the global team's engagement and success.

  • Demonstrate accountability and responsibility for Environment, Health, Safety and Sustainability (EHS&S) performance and compliance through active participation and promotion of our Company's EHS&S Program. Assure compliance objectives and team goals are achieved per requirements /schedule.

  • Provide expert advice and technical guidance for EHS&S programs and projects. Serve as key person accountable for implementing and maintaining the effectiveness of the EHS management system.

  • Identify and develop talent at all levels of the organization.

  • Interface with Corporate, Division, plant and external community organizations/agencies regarding EHS&S issues and strategy. Serve as single EHS&S point of contact for AH Operations in our Manufacturing Division.

  • Demonstrate robust portfolio and project management, assure adherence to financial budget targets and rapid disciplined decision making.

  • Drive continuous improvement, innovation, and sustainable results across EHS&S projects/programs, EHS assessments and resulting action plans; ensure identified actions are completed in accordance with identified target dates.

  • Review and/or approve regulatory permits, inspection outcomes and audit report findings to assure appropriate submission, impact, and/or action. Develops/oversees solutions and reports status readily to executive management.

  • Anticipate, recognize, and respond to changing internal and external trends, market conditions, regulatory legislation, etc., evaluate and integrate the information to define potential effect on the company/network. Develop solutions that are progressive, innovative, compliant, and scalable.

  • Facilitates leadership team cohesion, assures rapid communication and best practice sharing with peers/management. Prospectively functions as a conduit of information between the operating facilities and EHS&S management at Site, Division and Corporate levels. Owns decisions and is accountable for outcomes.

Education Minimum Requirement:

  • Bachelor's Degree required (should have a concentration in Biology, Engineering, Environmental Science, or related technical discipline).

  • Master's/MBA (desirable).

  • Relevant professional certification(s) e.g.PE, CSP, (preferred).

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Must have direct experience in leading multiple geographically dispersed sites, matrixed functions, or operations within the pharmaceutical, chemical, or other like industry.

  • Clear and recognizable appreciation of the processes, equipment, and methods associated with manufacturing.

  • Vision and sound judgment at the global and local levels.

  • Must be willing to tackle tough issues with tact and diplomacy in a timely fashion.

  • Proven experience leading a site program such as Manufacturing, Research, Tech Ops function, Quality or EHS Plant.

  • Leadership in pharmaceutical or chemical industry.

  • Robust skills interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks such OSHA, OHSAS 18000, EPA, ISO, NFPA, GMP.

  • Strong leadership, talent management, change execution, and financial management skills.

  • Readily and actively contributes to the success of the global team.

  • Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed, discipline, and accuracy.

  • Robust interpersonal, written, and verbal communication; visible proclivity for collaboration and driving improved outcomes.

  • Excellent coaching & development experience, proven people-development capabilities and building strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully negotiate with regulatory agencies and senior operations leaders; escalates issues rapidly to point of resolution.

  • Experience managing in a matrix and a global team; accountable for success of corporate and team goals.

  • Attracting, developing, and retaining talent; builds strong, informed, engaged, and unified teams.

  • Must be computer savvy with emphasis on MS Office, including advanced Excel and database skills.

  • Must be willing to learn new applications including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Enablon, Spotfire, Tableau etc. as directed.

  • Vision and sound judgment with a willingness to influence and offer new ideas; ability to develop strategy and execute tactically.

  • Excellent coaching & development experience, development of people, and succession planning.

  • Builds and cultivates strong collaborative relationships with stakeholders.

  • Ability to distill complex issues and concepts into frameable and relevant communications or escalations.

  • Robust skills interpreting and applying regulatory frameworks and keeping abreast of the changing regulatory landscape.

  • Strong leadership, change execution, and financial management skills including budget forecasting and accuracy.

  • Ability to simultaneously balance and adjust to multiple changing priorities and make decisions with speed and accuracy.

  • Up to 25% international travel is required.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Expected US salary range:

$206,200.00 - $324,600.00
