The Global Clinical Supply (GCS) organization, within our Research & Development (R&D) Division, is accountable for managing the 'end-to-end' integrated clinical supply chain across all of the R&D portfolio to enable the execution of any clinical trial using a company asset.GCS supports more than 300 Phase I-IV clinical trials run inhouse, 400+ outsourced or run by partners, as well as our company's IIS clinical trials (200+) and External Collaborations (~200+). GCS is accountable for the planning, sourcing, labeling, packaging and delivery of clinical supplies to clinical sites across more than 60+ countries, all in accordance with US and WW regulations, company policies and standard operating procedures. Without Clinical supplies, there is no study.

The head of GCS Logistics and Regions is a core member of GCS LT and as such, will actively participate in adapting the GCS strategy and priorities to ensure GCS is able to always meet the needs of the portfolio.The role is accountable of ensuring the clinical supplies are delivered to clinical sites around the world in a timely and compliant manner, coordinating with all internal sites and CMOs, the network of depots, brokers, couriers and pertinent Authorities as well as GCTO country teams.

Primary Activities include, but are not limited to:

  • Oversee all activities to ensure business continuity under all sort of geopolitical and natural disaster events as well as facilities.

  • Support other R&D departments that have logistics support needs and/or Trade compliance consultation or operations support needs

  • Ensure an exquisite partnership with Global Clinical Trial Operations, Regulatory and other Development Sciences and Clinical Supply (DSCS) groups, as well with external partners like freight forwarders, couriers and brokers.

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable regulations impacting clinical trials and trade in the distribution space and across all geographies.

  • Oversees transportation Logistics and ensure appropriate processes that enable flexibility and speed as needed

  • Oversight of the GCS Regional team

  • Close collaboration with Procurement, Finance, other GCS departments to set all requirements

  • Maintain a strong internal and external network of contacts that we can leverage in crisis situations

  • Ensures Trade compliance requirements are met across all our activities and collaborate closely with Corporate GTC

  • Seek ways to innovate in all areas of Distribution, Logistics and Trade across all geographies

  • Expand and/or further automate the use of data and new capabilities.

  • Talent attraction, development, growth and retention

  • Performance management

  • Ensure updated Business continuity plans and crisis management processes are ready at all times

  • Oversight of our company's FTZ

  • Accountable for Trade and Customs Audits

  • Co-Chair of USA and EMEA Cross Divisional Trade and Regulatory Councils

  • Responsible for Global Warehousing/Logistics/Transportation/VAT Expenditures for GCS

  • Responsible for Logistics Planning, Siting, Forecasting, and Network Optimization

  • Ensure KPIs are robust, reported, and continuously improved

  • Support GCTO on a regional supply chain level

Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree with 15+ years of professional experience in Clinical Supply Chain Logistics and Distribution and/or Clinical trials Logistics & Distribution space

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of people management

  • Exquisite Technical savviness of Distribution and Logistics, GDP

  • Understanding of Trade principles and regulations

  • Strong interpersonal skills across all levels of the organization, including senior level stakeholders

  • Strong executional excellence focus

  • Data Driven decision making with experience in risk based decision making

  • Demonstrated ability to motivate and influence with senior level stakeholders/GCS leadership and drive strategic decisions in support of GCS and the R&D portfolio

  • Strong Ethics and compliance

  • Exquisite sense of urgency and focus on what matters

  • Can manage high complexity & stress situations with a creative mindset and imaginative strategies

  • Proven success in developing diverse talent

  • Ability to lead, create future state, and deliver results

  • Results-orientated with the proven ability to lead a team in execution of strategy

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job in certain states and cities within the United States. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate's relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected US salary range:

$227,300.00 - $357,900.00
