Job Summary
Reporting to the Executive Director of Audit Services, the incumbent will be responsible for:
- Establishing an investigation program that ensures investigations follow a consistent process, are lawfully and objectively conducted, are thorough in gathering all material facts, and present an accurate accounting of all significant matters
- Conducting investigations of alleged violations of the university's ethical standards and non-compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and university policy
- Preparing clear, concise, and factual reports that enable fair, relevant, and consistent decisions to be made
- Identifying root causes and recommending measures that will reduce the risk of similar future incidents
- Building awareness, training, consistency of approach, and working with employees assigned to conduct investigations

The work requirements allow both onsite and offsite work and an employee has an expected recurring onsite presence. On occasion, the employee may be required and must be available to work onsite more frequently if necessitated by unit leadership or their designee and/or the job requirements. The selected candidate must secure reliable internet access/Wi-Fi for this role. This position will have a potential for a flexible combination of on-campus and remote work responsibilities.

Required Qualifications*
- At least five years of investigation experience with a large, complex organization
- Solid organizational, time management, and leadership skills, including the ability to successfully work on multiple projects simultaneously
- Ability to establish and maintain a solid compliance investigation process
- Knowledge of compliance and regulatory requirements impacting the key activities of the university
- Ability to work effectively and collaboratively as an individual contributor or team member in a diverse work group and the wider university community
- Excellent writing, communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated experience in conducting timely and thorough investigations.
- Master's or terminal degree
- Demonstrated ability to exercise discretion, superior judgment, analytical skills, and neutrality in highly sensitive situations
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with members of the university community
- Deep commitment to ethics, integrity, and doing the right thing, even when it's difficult
Desired Qualifications*
- Juris Doctorate
- Higher education experience, including knowledge of higher education operations, and university systems and data
- Relevant professional certifications, such as Certified Legal Investigator (CLI), Certified Fraud Examiner
