The purpose of this work team is to prepare consumers who desire employment for placement into competitive, permanent positions while also assisting them in maintaining employment and addressing any identified barriers that may arise. The Employment Case Manager performs various functions utilizing motivational interviewing tactics and stage wise treatment to provide a client centered approach in which the client is in control of their own identified employment goals.
Primary responsibilities of this role include:
- Assisting clients in determining employment goals and giving them the tools to attain those goals
- Counseling clients on the processes involved with their specific career choice and seeing them along the journey from concept to job offer and then maintaining employment
- Assisting clients who may be actively experiencing severe mental health symptoms or substance use barriers that inhibit or restrict their ability to obtain/maintain employment within a zero exclusion principle in which anyone wishing employment assistance is eligible for help.
- Assist clients in obtaining information about their benefits (e.g., SSI, Medicaid, etc.) and how they will be affected by employment in order for clients to make informed decisions about employment opportunities, as needed.
- Providing support to clients’ family and other interested parties to help in the employment process
- Develop and nurture relationships with local potential employers willing to hire program participants and then follow up to check on client’s performance
Position Requirements:
- Associate’ s degree or higher required
- QMHS within 10 days of hire, employer provided
- Must have an acceptable driving record (4 points or less), reliable transportation, and carry automobile insurance with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000 and property damage of $50,000. (required)
- Demonstrated experience working with individuals in a mental health capacity
- Experience developing successful relationships with prospects, preferably in an employment context
