Purpose Statement
The position is responsible for strategic management of ROAR's intermodal pricing team and process. This leader will ensure that there is an effective pricing program to handle bid and spot pricing for drayage as well as North American 40' and 53' containers. They will lead the sourcing, price negotiation, rate management and overall relationship management for all intermodal service providers.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
* Manage the Intermodal Pricing Team including coaching, mentoring, and developing the team to meet operational goals.
* Create and maintain an organizational plan and training that ensures associate growth and development.
* Maintain relationships with existing internal and external customers as appropriate.
* Partner with sales, operations, and company leadership to develop an intermodal pricing strategy including drayage and rail equipment providers.
* Prepare pricing for intermodal opportunities presented by internal sales associates as well as direct requests from customers.
* Manage RFQ's received from customers. Reviewing, preparing, and ensuring the team completing within designated time frame provided by the customer.
* Ability to identify market conditions and trends which will allow accurate forecasting of purchased transportation costs to enhance pricing decisions and margin expectations.
* Effectively communicate changes to service offerings that typically occur within the rail industry to sales, operations, and customers.
* Ability to procure alternative routing options in the event of service changes.
* Maintain the integrity of the rate database within ROAR's TMS, including rail tariff's, drayage tariffs, special rate quotes, etc. Ensure that database is kept current so that accurate pricing data is always available, ensuring accuracy of quotes provided to sales and customers.
* Thorough knowledge of the North American rail system and carriers to source and secure service solutions to our customers. Extensive use of both internal and external data analytics to identify and develop capacity solutions.
* Ability to establish and maintain strategic relationships with rail providers, including railroads, equipment providers, steamship lines and motor carrier vendors.
* Responsible to review daily / weekly shipments, working with operations to ensure that best routing options are being utilized to maximize profitability.
* Lead and conduct regular business reviews with core drayage and rail equipment providers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
* Bachelor's degree in business (supply chain, accounting, or other analytical field) preferred but not required. High School Diploma/GED required.
* Minimum 5 years of experience in domestic intermodal pricing. Operations experience a plus.
* Strong analytical skills with ability to manage large databases
* Ability to build strategic, collaborative relationships
* Demonstrated strategic orientation, negotiation skills and business expertise
* Strong negotiation and customer service skills
* Demonstrated ability to manage others both directly and indirectly
* Comfortable engaging with all levels including senior leadership, carriers and customers
* Proficient with Microsoft Office Products including Excel; Power Point; Outlook.
* Extensive knowledge of logistics industry

COMPENSATION
In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"),reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
Annual Range/Hourly Rate
$116,000.00-$174,000.00
