We are seeking a highly creative and motivated Graphic and Visual Designer to collaborate closely with our UX and UI designers to create visually compelling and user-focused designs.
*The role is 40 hours/week and 5 days fully onsite in office for 3+ months with possibility for extension!*
As an integral member of the team, you will work on projects that enhance user experiences across digital platforms while maintaining brand integrity. Your ability to blend aesthetic creativity with user-centric design principles will be key to ensuring a seamless and impactful experience for end-users.
The ideal candidate will excel at balancing multiple projects with tight deadlines and effectively communicating with stakeholders. They should have a strong individual sense of aesthetics, a user-focused mindset, and the ability to elevate design ideas in alignment with broader UX/UI strategies.
This role requires expertise in graphic and visual design, including typography, branding, digital design systems, and acute attention to detail. While you will have the technical skills to produce outstanding designs, you are also a conceptual thinker who can contribute fresh, innovative ideas that align with user needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with UX and UI designers to enhance the user experience through visually impactful design.
- Create graphics, layouts, iconography, and other visual assets that align with the products design system and user needs.
- Support the development of design guidelines, patterns, and scalable systems for both branding and digital interfaces.
- Translate user research insights and business requirements into intuitive, visually appealing designs.
- Maintain consistency with the established design system while contributing innovative ideas for its evolution.
- Design engaging digital assets for web, mobile, and cross-platform interfaces, ensuring they enhance usability and user satisfaction.
- Provide visual art direction for freelance designers and external agencies, ensuring the designs meet the teams high standards.
- Stay updated on design trends, tools, and technologies, incorporating best practices into your work.
- Champion brand identity across all touchpoints and ensure that all creative work adheres to the UX/UI teams principles.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or a related field.
- A strong portfolio showcasing branding projects, digital designs, and visual systems, particularly those integrated with UX/UI frameworks.
- 5+ years of professional design experience, preferably within UX/UI environments or collaborative design teams; agency experience is a plus.
- Proficiency in design tools like Figma, Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign), and prototyping tools.
- Solid understanding of typography, color theory, and visual hierarchy as they relate to digital interfaces and user engagement.
- Experience designing within design systems and collaborating with developers for implementation.
- Strong project management skills to handle multiple deadlines effectively.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to articulate design concepts to stakeholders and cross-functional teams.
- Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with UX research principles and the ability to translate research findings into visual enhancements.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and inclusive design practices.
- Experience working in agile or iterative design processes alongside product and development teams.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback and mentor junior designers.
