SUMMARY: The Demand Planner will be responsible for all forecasting activities associated with customers and products. The Demand Planner owns the creation and support of the demand signal for Mizkan’s Pasta Sauce and Vinegar businesses. Utilizing technology/ business intelligence, robust consensus process and market information gather to ensure service level targets are met.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Lead the development of assumption-based rolling demand plans at multiple levels of aggregation for several time horizons
• Translate brand plans and assumptions into a monthly volume forecast for the 24-month time horizon
• Manage forecast accuracy and variance by monitoring bias and consistently driving forecasting improvements
• Own and facilitate demand cycle process, demand review and all demand management elements of S&OP process
• Provide input and work closely with Supply Planning to manage fulfillment of demand and develop inventory strategies on existing products, new products and product phase-outs
• Create, analyze, and track sales and operations reports and look for trends, opportunities, issues, etc. that impact demand
• Make recommendations or raise questions based on the information analyzed
• Manage and extract data from various modules in Blue Yonder, Exceedra, ORI, and TPO
• Interface closely with sales, operations, finance, purchasing, marketing, the plants and other departments as needed to ensure service level targets are met
• Lead or assist in the development of customized reports that provide actionable, fact-based insights
• Ensure discrepancies, backed up by facts, are communicated internally
• Drive continuous improvement by identifying areas of opportunity and process improvement
• Track and reconcile KPI metrics versus established targets
• Clearly communicate all aspects of the forecast, performance, opportunities, scenarios, and root cause, to diverse audiences.
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelor’s degree in: Finance, Supply Chain, Engineering, Mathematics or related field.
• 3-5 years in an analytical role in consumer products or supply chain.
• Computer literacy required. Previous knowledge or experience with Blue Yonder is preferred, in addition to Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with particular focus on Excel
• Must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience within the food industry is preferred
• Data mining skills including the ability to retrieve, manipulate, analyze and interpret information critical to success.
• Strong time, project management and prioritization skills required.
• Organizational Skills: Must be able to manage multiple projects and complete projects on time.
• Prioritization Skills: Must work well under pressure and be highly responsive to short deadlines.
• Must be self-motivated, detail oriented, intellectually curious and driven to succeed.
• Demonstrated ability to interface effectively with people at all levels of a company.
• Ability to work in a fast paced and changing environment.
The annual base salary for this position ranges from $74,100 to $102,600. Compensation is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Short-Term Incentives and other forms of compensation may also be provided as part of a total compensation package.
