Wells Fargo is seeking an experienced corporate banking relationship manager at the Vice President level to join the Corporate and Investment Bank's Diverse Segments Group. In this role, you will:
The Diverse Segments Corporate Banking Relationship Manager will report into the Diverse Segments Banking/International Leader and will:
Develop and oversee a portfolio of clients that are primarily Minority Depository Institutions (“MDIs”)
Align and partner with key internal constituencies, including Financial Institutions Industry Coverage, Corporate and Investment Treasury Management, Asset Backed Finance, and Investment Banking to develop a business plan for each targeted MDI client or prospect to maximize wallet share through delivering the bank’s products and services, including capital markets products and strategic advice to clients.
Originate, structure, and execute transactions related to investment banking, traditional corporate lending and/or other credit related and cross-sell products.
Work with the portfolio management team to manage client risk in line with Wells Fargo standards and culture.
Provide support to the Head of Minority Depository Institutions and Strategic Client Partnerships by contributing to the development and maintenance of cross-enterprise internal relationships that result in strong institutional connectivity between Wells Fargo and the MDIs
Required Qualifications:
5+ years of Corporate Banking Relationship Management experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Experience originating, structuring, and executing transactions related to corporate banking, other credit related products, equity, or venture capital investing for critical or complex clients
Ability to develop multifaceted revenue streams from strategic clients, including capital markets
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Strong organizational, multi-tasking, and prioritizing skills
Desired Qualifications:
5+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: commercial banking relationship management, corporate banking relationship management, equity or venture capital investing
Strong preference for previous experience with banking Financial Institutions clients
History of building and maintaining effective relationships with customers and internal partners
Commitment to leveraging Wells Fargo’s broad-based capabilities towards top tier service provision will facilitate the growth and overall success of Minority Depository Institutions
Ability to interact with all levels of an organization.
Extensive knowledge and understanding of middle-market financial institutions clients.
Solid knowledge and understanding of treasury management, debt capital markets, interest rate, and foreign exchange risk management, loan syndications, asset management, leasing, Asset Backed Finance (ABF), Futures Commission Merchant (FCM), Prime Brokerage, Reinsurance, and other relevant Wholesale and/or consumer banking products.
Proven ability to establish relationships at the CFO/Treasurer level of existing clients.
Series 7 or 79 and 63 securities licenses. Candidates not currently licensed will require licensing per regulatory requirements within 90 days.
Job Expectations:
Registration for FINRA Series 63 and 79 must be completed within 90 days of hire date if it is not available for transfer upon hire. FINRA recognized equivalents will be accepted.
Obtaining and/or maintaining appropriate Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA) license(s) is required for ongoing employment in this position. In addition, state registration, specific product licenses or SAFE licensing may apply. Additional requirements include meeting enhanced financial fitness and criminal background standards. Wells Fargo will initiate the FINRA review process at the time of offer acceptance.
