Schedule is: Full time, Weekdays. M-F, 8a-5p
Certified Medical Assistant 1 Float handles patient healthcare under professionals' guidance. Tasks include record-keeping, medication administration, injections, and vital sign documentation. Provide valuable support for smooth patient care.
Essential Functions of the Role
- You will act as a versatile resource for various clinics within a designated, local area.
- You will be involved in patient examination and treatment under the guidance of a physician.
- You'll keep treatment rooms ready for patient examination, ensuring their cleanliness after procedures and maintaining supplies.
- You'll ensure the comfort of patients by assisting and accompanying them from waiting room to examination room.
- You'll interview patients and record information in their medical records. Collect medical data to help physicians assess patient health and needs.
- You will be responsible for readying all necessary documents and forms for each office visit.
- You will check patient vital signs before exams, tests, procedures, and x-rays. This includes pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height.
- Routine patient testing is required. Acquiring and processing electrocardiograms is part of the job. Collecting and processing blood and urine samples is also necessary.
- You'll administer oral, rectal meds, vaccines as directed. Report any adverse reactions promptly.
- Additional duties will include the removal of sutures and staples and the changing of sterile and non-sterile dressings as required.

- You are open to frequent travel to different clinics within a specified, local region to perform assigned tasks.
- You earned a medical assistant certification from an approved program, like American Association of Medical Assistants or American Medical Technologists.
- You are well-versed in the critical values of secure and accurate medical administration.
- You understand the fundamentals of "five rights" - right patient, right medication, right dose, right route, right time.
- Record patient info following policies, regulations, and procedures. Familiar with HIPAA guidelines.
- You naturally observe patients' physical condition and promptly report any abnormalities to medical personnel.
- You're capable of administering injections and drawing blood.
- You are adept at medical terminologies.
- Your excellent interpersonal skills make patients feel comfortable. You come across as friendly, reassuring and approachable.
- You're comfortable taking instructions from doctors.
- You are accustomed to handling medical charts and records.
- You display high regard for detail.
QUALIFICATIONS
- EDUCATION - H.S. Diploma or GED Equivalent
- EXPERIENCE - One year of experience preferred, but not required
CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION
- Basic Life Support (BLS) or obtain within (30) thirty days of hire or transfer.
- Cert Medical Assistant (CMA): Must be CMA from one listed
- Nat Cert Med Asst (NCMA) from NCCT
- Cert Medical Asst (CMA) from AAMA or ARMA
- Cert Cln Med Asst (CCMA) from NHA
- Reg Med Asst (RMA) from AMT, AAMP or AAH
- Nat Reg Cert Med Asst (NRCMA) from NAHP
- Cln Med Asst Cert (CMAC) from AMCA.
