A Day in the Life of a Packaging Technician:
You will be responsible for Food Safety and Quality Assurance by managing line speed and efficiency, tracking and maintaining inventory levels and communicating with all areas of the department.You will be responsible for all essential duties encompassed in the packaging supply areas. You must follow all OSHA and Plant Safety rules and report directly to the department supervisor.This is an onsite position. #LI-Onsite
You Will:
- Operate and troubleshoot the wrapper, case packer, and cartoner
- Change the film roles
- Get supplies and raw materials and enter data into the computer
- Clean and sanitize all packaging equipment, including freezers, according to GMPs
- 1st Level troubleshooting on freezer issues
- Learn to calibrate, test, and adjust the X-Ray machine and take appropriate actions when it is not working correctly
- Fill out paperwork to track production, quality, downtime, and other requirements and enter data in the appropriate computer programs
- Perform all quality and weight checks, review line speeds, and make necessary adjustments
- Accomplish Master Sanitation (MSS) tasks
- Continuously improve the production processes
Qualifications:
- Must have a GED or High School Diploma
- Must have Microsoft software experience and maintain a Conagra Brands email account
Physical Demands:
You are required to use hands to finger; handle; or feel and reach with hands and arms. You are required to stand; walk; climb; balance; stoop; kneel; twist; crouch, and crawl. You may lift and/or move 70 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. You are frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
